We couldn't decide where to have lunch. It was now 10am and we were on a bus to the city. I text my mum saying I was going out with some friends to the shops, she didn't need to know I was out with a boy going to the city, she would flip and then tell dad and world war III would break loose. We decided on the city because they have nice cafes and the view is amazing if you go to the right place.

I'd been to the city a few times but not often. Jake says he knows the good places. I was pretty scared at the idea,  my parents would have never agreed to this 1) I'm with a boy 2) there are no adults 3) it's the city. Jake promised he wouldn't let me out of his sight, he'd look after me and if anything happened he'd make sure the person would pay the price.

"Welcome to the city" Jake whispered in my ear. His whisper instantly sent shivers down my spine. It's weird how he makes me feel but I love it all at the same time.

We got off the bus and the streets were filled with people. It was a weekend and lunch time but I had no idea there would be this many people on a Saturday. I'd never been on this side of town, I hadn't even experienced the Harbour Bridge or the Opera House yet. The buildings were old, they had beautiful detail going up the walls. Many shops occupied the streets of Sydney. There were men in suits, women in the tightest skirts you could imagine with the biggest heels on, you'd wonder how they were able to walk. Dad would describe that as 'they have polls shoved up their ass'. That would always make me laugh.

Jake and I were heading for somewhere I'm not sure where. As we were walking it got more crowded and I was starting to feel a tad scared. Jake felt my uneasiness as I was walking closer to him so he grabbed my hand. The touch sent butterfly's in my stomach. I looked at our hands, they weren't intertwined just holding, I then looked up to Jake and realized he was already looking at him he had the cutest smile, I felt the red creep up my neck, I tried to hide.

"So where are we going?" I asked.

"There's a perfect café by the water with the view of the Harbour Bridge and everything else. I was thinking after we eat we go shopping?" he asked. I shook my head. "I have no money, no point and its way to expensive here." Jake stopped dead in his tracks and looked me in the eyes. "I'll buy you something anything you want." I couldn't believe he said that. There is no where in hell I would let him buy me something from one of these shops. "No" I simply said. "Ok, one thing, please?" he looked at me with puppy dog eyes I shrugged and kept walking. "I'll think about it" I yelled back. Jake came running over and started walking the rest of the way to the café.

We finally made it to the café. It looked like it belonged in Italy. Old brick walls, with vines growing up the side. Big fancy doors at the entrance. Jake opened the doors for me. I think I nearly fell over. It was amazing, Jake noticed my jaw was wide open and closed it "you'll catch fly's" he chuckled. He pushed me the rest of the way in. The waitress came over and showed us to a table for 2. We sat down and had menus placed in front of us. Once again my mouth fell opened, it was so expensive here.

"I reckon we should go somewhere else." I spoke up, Jake raised his eyebrows "Its way to expensive I cant afford anything in here. I have $20 and that will only buy me a sandwich."

"I'll shout the rest" I shook my head this is to much. Where does he get all this money from anyway? "Charlotte, I invited you out. I asked you to hang out with me this weekend. My invite so I'm going to pay for your meal, if it satisfies you, you can pay for some of it. It's no problem." Jake said.

I ended up agreeing and ordered a club burger with a glass of coke.

"So, next Friday is a party...." Jake started "No, no, no way. I haven't been to one of your party's and I don't plan on ever going. EVER!" I cut him off.
