Logan's POV
I walked into the firehouse and went straight to the kitchen. Boden was walking through. "Chief," I stated. He looked at me. "Congrats on your promotion."
"Logan, I'm still your chief until they find a replacement," Boden replied.
"I had a question for you," I nodded. "Uhm, when Kelly and I pick a date, would you give me away on our wedding day?"
"I'd be honored to," Boden smiled.
"Thank you," I stated. Boden walked off. I went to Kelly's office and closed the door. "What's your favorite season?"
"Lo, we only experience winter here," Kelly replied. I looked at him. "Not too hot or too cold."
"Okay, so fall?" I asked.
"Whatever you want," Kelly nodded. "Babe, your wedding"
"Our wedding," I looked at my phone. I gave him a kiss on the cheek. I moved his stale sandwich aside and sat on his desk. "Questions?"
"Why not just get married at the courthouse?" Kelly asked.
"I hope to only be married once," I replied. The door opened and Violet popped her head in. "Hey."
"There's a guy a the apron asking for you," Violet stated.
"Did he give a name?" I asked.
"No, he said he was an old friend," Violet replied.
"I don't have anyone outside of Chicago," I nodded. We walked outside. As soon as I saw who it was, I got behind Kelly. "No."
"Who are you?" Kelly asked.
"Logs knows who I am," he stated. I just held on to Kelly's arm. "I'm her boyfriend."
"Ex," I whispered. "Soljer."
"It's Logan," Kelly stated. "Not Logs."
"Who are you?" Soljer asked.
"I'm her fiancé," Kelly stated.
"Oh, so you're cheating on me now?" Soljer asked. "After everything we've been through together?"
"Cheating?" Kelly asked. "We've been together for 5 years."
"I was locked up for 5 years," Soljer stated.
"For raping a 14 year old girl," I got out from behind Kelly. "I testified against you. You should've gotten life."
"I still came back for you even after you locked me up," Soljer stated.
"I left Orlando as soon as you went to prison," I replied. "I would never stoop so low to ever date a rapist." He raised his fist and Kelly stopped him. "You'll never be able to lay your hands on me ever again."
"This isn't over," Soljer stated.
"It is now," Kelly replied. Soljer left. "You got any other crazy exes I need to know about?"
"He's the only one," I sighed. "The only one with a criminal record too." Our shift ended and Kelly and I rode in silence to our home. We walked in and I stood in the living room with my arms crossed. "I'm going to go see Jay today and see if he can get me in a firing range."
"Is this because of Soljer?" Kelly asked.
"I wanna be able to protect myself, Kelly,"stated. "I don't wanna be the one to have to call someone when I'm being attacked." I got dressed in one of my track suits. "I'm going for a run."
