Kelly's POV
I heard Logan screaming for me. "Shit," I mumbled, noticing the time. Walking towards the room, I heard something break. "Logan?" I ran into the room and saw someone on top of her. "Hey!" I tackled the guy and punched him, knocking him unconscious. I got up to check on Logan. "You okay, babe?"
"Call," Logan stated, as she started coughing. She looked at me when it subsided. "Call Jay."
"I'd rather call 911 if you're hurt," I replied.
"I'm fine," Logan started. "I'd rather have Intelligence do the paperwork on this one."
"Okay," I sighed. I reluctanty called Jay. I sat in the bedroom with her while we gave our statements. Kevin took the guy away. "You okay, Lo?"
"Someone wanna tell me how the hell he found me?" Logan asked.
"You know the suspect?" Jay asked.
"Yeah, he's a rapist," Logan replied. "He came by the firehouse yesterday during shift."
"That's a pretty big accusation," Voight stated.
"It's on record. I testified against him. He raped a 14 year old girl in our apartment," Logan looked at Voight. "I left him that night. I saved that litle girl. Once the trial ended, I came here to start over." I noticed she was messing with her bracelet. "I was blind. I kept hoping it was a bad dream, that he wasn't capable of hurting a little girl." She let a tear slip. "I offered to pay for her therapy, but her mom told me that saving her was enough. It didn't sit right with me, so l make anonymous donations to her fund every month."
"It wasn't your fault that she was raped," Kim stated.
"It wasn't hers either," Logan replied. "If we're done here, I would like to try to get some sleep." I cleared everyone out of the house. "Where were you?"
"I lost track of time," I stated. "I'm sorry."
"Sorry doesn't get rid of the fact that I was about to be killed in my own home," Logan looked at me. "Does it not bother you that he snuck in here, into our room and assaulted me? Something that could've been avoided if you had just came to bed the same time I did?"
"I don't know what else you'd want me to do," I stated.
"Maybe try to be there for me at least just this once," Logan replied. She walked out of the room and I followed her. She opened the living room closet and got out her go-bag. "I can't sleep in my own bed tonight after I've been assaulted and my own fiancé wasn't even there to protect me." I looked at her. "That's what you're supposed to do, right? Fight the good fight for me? Especially since you're so against me owning a firearm."
"Lo, you don't have to be so dramatic. I'll go to bed with you now," I stated. Tears weld up in her eyes. "I didn't mean for that to come out that harsh."
Jay's POV
There was a knock on my door. I went and opened it. There stood Logan, with a duffel bag. "Uhm, look, I know I haven't been around lately, but if you wanted to spend the night, all you had to do was call," I stated.
"Kelly and I are fighting, and you're my best friend," Logan sighed. I let her in as I took her bag. "Kelly doesn't know half the emotional trauma I've been through to get to where I am now."
"Look, I didn't even know your ex-boyfriend raped a 14 year old," I shrugged. "We all learn something new everyday."
"Can we not talk about that?" Logan asked. I nodded. We sat on the couch. "It's just this whole thing about him after Soljer showed up."
"What do you mean?" I asked. She sighed. "Do you want a beer?"
"No, but I'll take tea if you have it," Logan sighed. I nodded. I grabbed a green tea bottle from the fridge and handed it to her. "Thanks. I don't know. Kelly's whole personality changed towards me, as if I've been damaged or something." She put the bottle on the table. "He was against the whole gun thing with me too."
"Well, not everyone is comfortable around a firearm," I stated. She looked at me. "No, you're right. As a fireman, Severide should not be so uptight about a gun."
"Who am I supposed to run to when you leave?" Logan asked. "You were always a safe space for me."
"I mean, I'm not dying," I smiled. "It's only 8 months."
"Mhm, but I know the military," Logan replied. She stood up. "I am going to try to get some sleep. So, can you move off my bed?"
"You're not taking the couch," I nodded. "You can take the room."
"Thanks," Logan replied.
"Don't mention it," I smiled. She disappeared into the bedroom and closed the door behind her. I heard the shower run. I called Kelly. "Come on."
"Hey, man, not a good time," Kelly stated. "Logan left the house."
"Yeah, I know," I sighed.
"How?" Kelly asked.
"She's my best friend. Who do you think she was going to call?" I asked. "Look, all I know is she's fine and that's the only thing I got from her." He hung up on me."That's the last courtesy call I make to you."
"Hey, Jay," Logan opened the door, wearing my t-shirt and sweatpants. I looked at her. "What?"
"You're wearing my clothes," I pointed.
"Yeah?" Logan questioned. She raised a brow. "Why are you looking at me like we're in high school?"
"I'm not. It's just been a while since you've dressed in my clothes," I replied. "Man, it's been that long since you've spent a night here."
"We had a thing once," Logan pointed. "We agreed it would be better if we were friends."
"Right," I nodded. "Uhm, do you need me to drive to you Chicago Med in the morning?"
