Jay's POV
Almost 3 months had passed by and I'm looking at most of the items we had in the donation pile. "Logan?" I called out. She walked out, with a messy bun, still in her pajamas. "Uhm, what time did you get home last night?"
"Unm, 3, I think," Logan stated. "What time is it?"
"7," I replied.
"Ugh," Logan groaned as she plopped on the couch. "Can you take the items to the shelter without me?"
"I'll let you sleep for three more hours," I smiled. I pulled a blanket over her as she situated herself. I moved her hair out of her face. "Sleep tight. We'll go to the shelter together." I let Logan sleep. About two and a half hours later, I had gotten done fixing breakfast for us. Logan sat up on the couch and looked at me as I poured a glass of orange juice for her and set it on the dining table. "You ready for breakfast now?"
"Yeah," Logan nodded. She dragged herself to the dining table. "Awe, you made blueberry pancakes?"
"I know they're your favorite," I smiled.
"You keep making me breakfast like this, I'd never want to move out," Logan joked. I smiled. I knew she was teasing me, but I wished it was true. "Hey, have I ever told you thank you?"
"For what?"
"Everything you've done for me from the very beginning?"
"That's what friends are for, right?"
"Can I be honest with you?" Logan asked. I nodded. "Sometimes I wish things worked between us."
"Really?"
"Yeah, things may be a bit more understandable," Logan stated. "After all I've been through, you were the constant in my life."
"Minus a year," I pointed.
"Yeah, but I love you and that doesn't change no matter if we're friends or in a relationship," Logan replied. "And with Kelly, I think I ended up with him was because of how manipulated he was with my feelings."
"What?" I asked.
"A lot happened with Kelly and I wished I had left sooner," Logan sighed. "I wish it didn't take me almost dying to realize he wasn't going to really be there for me."
"You shouldn't have to explain why you deserve to be spoken to with respect and treated with human decency," I replied. "Do not allow anyone, even if it's someone you love, to talk down to you, hurt you, or strip you of who you are in order to gain power over you. That isn't love. And it sure as hell isn't how you should ever be treated." Logan looked at me as she finished her breakfast. "I have seen every inch of of you. Your acne, your unshaved legs, makeup, no makeup, your highs and lows, crying so hard your eyes are swollen, your panic attacks, your jealous side, your sweet side, your I can't do this anymore side, your adhd side, your insecure side, and so much more. Over all that, I still chose to love you."
Crockett's POV
I walked into work and pulled Will into the doctor's lounge. "Please tell me that there is nothing going on between Logan and your brother," I stated.
"Whoa, Logan and Jay?" Will asked. "That's old news."
"How old?" I asked.
"Like 6, maybe 7 years ago," Will shrugged. "Why aren't you asking Logan this?"
"I don't want to give her a reason to not trust me," I stated. "I don't want to assume anything."
"Are you trying to say Logan still has feelings for Jay?" Will asked.
"Well, does she? Ever since he's been back, I haven't really seen my girlfriend much," I sighed. "She's been spending so much time with him."
"They're roommates," Will shrugged.
"I get that but I want to spend sime with my girlfriend," I sighed. "I feel like I have to make an appointment with her now."
"She should be the one you talk to about this," Will opened the door. "Not me. I'm not her and I'm not Jay. You do what you gotta do. I'm not getting involved."
"Come on," I stated. Will nodded and walked out. I worked the rest of shift. At the end, I saw Logan walking in. "Hey, what's going on?"
"Uhm, nothing," Logan nodded, as she followed me into the doctor's lounge. "I just came by to tell you that I'll meet you at Molly's tonight, okay?"
"You don't want me to pick you up?" I asked.
"No, uhm, we both still have to get ready for the party," Logan nodded. "I've been cleaning the apartment all day and I lost track of time."
"Okay, babe, we can be late to the party," I stated. "I can still pick you up."
"It's okay," Logan smiled. "Jay can take me."
"Logan, can I ask you something?"
"Anything."
"Do you have feelings for Jay?" I asked. She looked at me. "Ever since he's been back from deployment, I haven't had much time with you."
"He's my best friend, Crockett. Do I have feelings for him? As a friend, yes," Logan nodded. "In a relationship, no. Jay and I had a thing once, long ago. That's over now."
"Then why have you been spending most of your free time with him?" I asked.
"Crockett, Jay and I are roommates. He's still adjusting," Logan replied. "Are you really that threatened by Jay?"
"I'm not threatened by him. I just haven't seen my girlfriend like I usually do," I stated. "I would like to see more of you, without a third party around."
"We've been together for 8 months, Crockett," Logan smiled. "I promise you, after the new year, you'll get more of me."
"Two more months?" I asked.
"You've waited for me a lot longer to go on our first date," Logan opened the door. "Two months isn't going to kill you, honey bear." Maggie walked in. "Oh, hey, Mags."
"Hey," Maggie smiled as Logan left. "Honey bear?"
"It's a nickname," I smiled. "So, I'll see you at Molly's, right?"
