The air crackled with anticipation as Izuku and Bakugou followed Aizawa into a secure briefing room. Recovery Girl hovered nearby, a stern look etched on her face, a silent promise of medical attention if needed. On the holographic screen flickered a detailed report compiled by the hero commission. Aizawa, his voice grave, began his explanation.
"Dr. Akari," Aizawa revealed, "was not working directly for Shigaraki and the League of Villains. She was a rogue agent, obsessed with the potential of emotional manipulation quirks." He explained how Dr. Akari had infiltrated U.A. She manipulated her quirk, subtly influencing students' emotions to gather data. However, upon encountering Izuku and Bakugou's unique connection, her obsession intensified.
"Her goal," Aizawa continued, "was not to turn you against each other, but to amplify your connection and study its potential for both hero work and... villainous applications." A shiver ran down Izuku's spine. The thought of their bond being used for evil was chilling. He glanced at Bakugou, whose scowl seemed to deepen.
The report then revealed a crucial detail. Dr. Akari's manipulation had an unintended consequence. The emotional overload she triggered, while designed to disrupt them, had actually acted as a catalyst. It had forced them to confront their vulnerabilities and forge a deeper understanding of their connection.Aizawa deactivated the screen. "This doesn't erase the fact that you were manipulated," he said, his gaze shifting between them. "But it does shed light on Dr. Akari's true motives." The silence stretched, heavy with the weight of the revelation. Izuku stole a glance at Bakugou. The explosive blond's usually fiery eyes held a flicker of... uncertainty?
Taking a deep breath, Izuku decided to break the tension. "So," he started, his voice barely above a whisper, "does this mean... our connection is real?" Bakugou scoffed, but the sound lacked its usual conviction. "Hn. Guess it is." He hesitated, then mumbled, almost inaudibly, "Doesn't mean I like it." But deep down Bakugou does actually like it a little bit so there's a little smile on his face. The tension in the room began to ease. Recovery Girl, ever practical, cleared her throat. "Well, good or bad, your connection needs some fine-tuning. Let's see if we can't help you learn to control it... without the near-meltdown this time."
Aizawa nodded in agreement. "Recovery Girl's right. For now, focus on recovery. We'll figure out the rest together."
As they left the briefing room, a sense of camaraderie hung in the air. The future remained uncertain, but a seed of trust had been planted. Their connection, forged in the crucible of manipulation and doubt, held the potential for a powerful partnership, perhaps even something more.
Meanwhile, in the shadows...
(again, because I don't know what else to put)
Shigaraki Tomura watched a live feed of Izuku and Bakugou leaving the briefing room, a scowl twisting his face. "Dr. Akari may be a failure," he rasped, turning to his doctor, "but her research is valuable. We'll find a way to exploit their connection. And this time, we won't fail."
The doctor chuckled, a sound like dry leaves rustling. "Indeed, Master Shigaraki. The heroes' greatest strength may soon become their ultimate weakness." Shigaraki's grin widened, a glint of malice flickering in his eyes. The battle for control of their amplified connection had just begun.
