"There you go, your makeup is done, birthday girl." My best friend, Peyton announced, placing the makeup brush down on my vanity.

I opened my eyes, letting them fall on the small mirror in front of us. I watched myself in the reflection, smiling big as I was checking out the makeup done by my best friend. "Pey it looks amazing, you never fail to blow me away. Thank you so much, Pey."

Thanks to the mirror in front of me, I was able to see my best friend smiling wide at my compliments. "You're welcome, Bree, anything for my best friend to look beautiful on her twenty-two birthday."

Just like my best friend had said, today is my twenty-two birthday. To celebrate my birthday, we are going out to a small local bar right here in California. The small local bar is new, it opened up a couple of days ago and tonight there are going to be volunteers playing live music. We have a fun evening ahead of us.

"I can't wait to check out this new bar, you know how much I love supporting new local businesses." I spoke out loud at the same time my phone lit up with a new notification.

"I am excited as well, Bree, I have been reading the reviews on their website and every one is good so far." My best friend added to the conversation as I stood up from the white wooden chair in front of my vanity.

I picked up my phone from the vanity and started reading the new notification. "Well, that is good, it makes me feel a little bit better about going to a new business."

"Another text wishing you happy birthday?" Peyton asked me as she started picking her makeup supplies.

Austen: Bree, I am making my way over there, It should take me six minutes

Me: Okay, drive safe, see you soon!

"No, it was just my cousin letting me know that he will arrive here in six minutes." I responded to my best friend's question after I had sent my response to my cousin's text message.

Since this morning, my phone has been blowing up with text messages from my parents, family members, high school friends and friends from university. All of them were wishing me a happy birthday. I will be seeing my parents this weekend to celebrate my birthday with them. I can't wait to see them, it has been awhile since I have seen them.

"I will take that as a sign to go to my room and get dressed." My best friend picked up her makeup bag from my vanity and started making her way towards the door of my bedroom. "I suggested you do the same, see you soon birthday girl." Those were my best friend's last words before she exited my bedroom and went to her own.

For tonight, I made the decision to wear a red v-neckline dress without any sleeves. To match my dress, I wrote my favorite pair of black heels. Lastly, I wore my dark brown hair down in soft curls.

"Hey Bree, are you ready to go? Your cousin is waiting for you downstairs." My best friend asked me as she walked into my bedroom.

"Hello Pey, yes I am ready to party. Do you know where Tristan is?" I answered my best friend as I walked out from my bathroom.

"Wow, Bree, you look gorgeous, red is your color." Peyton complimented me. "According to my boyfriend's text, he should be here soon, Tristan got stuck in traffic."

"Aww, thank you Pey. You look amazing in pink as you always do." I thanked her, showing her a wide smile. "That's okay, we can wait until Tristan gets here. I should go downstairs and greet Austen." I picked up my black purse from my bed, which contained my phone, my wallet and my set of house's keys.
