🎙2022🎙

I changed into some more comfortable clothes and exited the bathroom. I walked into the locker's hallway and started heading my way towards the theater's auditorium. The last time I played a character in a school's play was back in my freshman year. Being part of that cast was a fun experience and I am excited to be part of a school's play once again.

I pushed the doors open and walked in. The first thing I saw was a couple of students bringing boxes of supplies onto the stage. There were other students checking to see if the lights and sound system were working perfectly.

I admired my surroundings in complete awe as I walked toward the second row. I sat down on the first empty seat while I waited for the meeting to start. Neither my boyfriend, Tristan or Samuel had arrived at the theater. Other than myself, Peyton was here, she was standing on the stage underneath a golden light, right where she belongs.

Like she knew someone was looking at her, Peyton looked my way, sending me a small wave with a soft smile on her lips. I looked back at her, returning her smile as I waved back at her.

"Hello, my name is Benjamin Ross Hudson, a junior." I heard someone speaking from beside me. I looked away from my best friend and saw a boy who looked younger than me, he sat down two chairs away from me. "But people call me, Benji."

"Hello Benji, it's nice to meet you. My name is Aubree Rose Emerson, a senior." I introduced myself to Benji. I placed my backpack on the floor between my feet. "Everyone loves to call me Aubree Rose."

"Nice to meet you Aubree Rose, who are you going to be playing in the play?" Benji asked me a question as his eyes landed on the stage.

I could tell by the way he was looking at the stage, I could tell he loves being underneath the golden lights. I know that look because Peyton has the same look. As the years passed by, I have noticed that Peyton's love for theater and the feeling of being on the stage has grown stronger since the beginning of our freshmen year.

As the years went by recently I have noticed that Peyton's love for the theater and being on the stage has grown stronger since the start of the freshmen year. About two years ago Peyton realized that she wants to study theater after high school. I really hope that in the future, my best friend gets to become a theater actress.

"I will be playing Ariel. What about you, Benji?" I replied to his question. The sound of the door being opened reached my ears. I looked over my shoulder, to see my boyfriend along with my other best friends entering the theater. All of them were scanning their surroundings, probably looking for me and Peyton.

Another smile appeared on my lips when I saw my boyfriend had found me. He made eye contact with me, waving at me before telling Tristan and Samuel where I was.

I waved back at him, smiling before addressing my attention back to the conversation with Benji and me. "I have the honor of playing King Triton."

"Cool, I am looking forward to sharing the stage with you this school's year, Benji." I told him, still smiling.

"Me too, Aubree Rose." Benji said as I saw Peyton coming down from the stage and started heading our way.

"Benji, it looks like you have already met one of my best friends." Peyton said, joining our conservation, taking a seat next to me.

"Hello, Peyton, I guess I have, she seems cool." Benjamin told Peyton, looking at her. "Are you excited for the first meeting?"

"Well, yeah she is very cool not that I am biased or anything." Peyton said, earning a small laugh from me. "Benji, I am super excited, I can't wait to start memorizing my lines."

As Peyton continued her conservation with Benji, I felt a very familiar pair of lips leaving a kiss on my right cheek. The kiss was followed by a warm and soft pair of arms being wrapped around my shoulders. I knew who the person was so my body instantly melted at his touch. It caused me to lean my head on my boyfriend's shoulders.

"Hey Aubs." My boyfriend greeted me, whispering into my ear.

"Hi Cal." I greeted him back with a wide smile reappearing on my lips.

"Calvin, this is Benjamin, but people call him Benji. He is part of the play too." I introduced my boyfriend to Benjamin.

"Benjamin, this is my boyfriend Calvin." I introduced Benjamin to my boyfriend. "Calvin, this is Benjamin, he is part of the play too."

"Hello Benji, nice to meet you." Calvin greeted him, looking at him.

"Hi Calvin, nice to meet you as well." Benjamin spoke after my boyfriend.

The theater's teacher walked onto the stage from backstage. The teacher was holding a stack of papers in her hands. "Hello, everyone, welcome to the first meeting of the school's spring play. Before I share the details, I would like to pass the script to everyone."

At the first meeting, we learned the rehearsal schedule and the teacher gave us homework that was to start memorizing our lines.Later this week, Peyton, my boyfriend, Tristan and Samuel will be coming over to my house so we can start memorizing our lines.

"So, what did everyone think about the first meeting?" Peyton asked us, breaking the silence as we walked out from the school.

All five of us started making our way to our cars in the parking lot. Peyton and Tristan will be driving together and my boyfriend and Samuel will be catching a ride with me.

"Not going to lie, at the start I was a little bit overwhelmed about learning all the rehearsal dates. But other than that, I can;t wait to see how the play comes together from nothing until it is ready for the public to see in a few months from now." I replied to my best friend's question, I retrieved my car's keys from my school backpack. "The most exciting part is that I get to share the stage with the four of you for one last time."

"Aubs, you weren't the only one who was feeling overwhelmed just from the rehearsal schedule." My boyfriend joined the conversation, placing an arm around my waist. "Other than that, the first meeting was good, I love the theater's teacher, she seems nice. I can't wait to start memorizing my lines. I am looking forward to seeing how the entire play comes together with everyone's hard work.

I am looking forward to seeing how the play comes together with everyone's hard work. I can't wait to perform in front of my family and friends."

"In my opinion, the first meeting went great. As soon as I get home, I am going to start memorizing the lines of my character. I am glad that I said yes when Peyton told us about the play. I am so glad that you guys became my best friends, my life would look so different without you guys." Samuel spoke, sharing his opinion as we arrived at our cars.

"Babe, I thought that the first meeting was great. I can't wait to see the looks on my family's faces when they see us perform." Tristan shared his opinion, wrapping an arm around his girlfriend's shoulders. "Like Bree said, I am glad to be able to make more memories with my best friends. As well, I am excited to see the magic of being part of a play."

My best friend looked at each one of us with a bright smile on her face with her back leaned against her car. "I am happy to hear that the first meeting went well for everyone. I have this feeling that this play is going to be amazing. I am thrilled that my last play of high school is going to be with you guys. In the future, I know I will be super happy to look back at all the memories we gained from this experience. I will see all of you tomorrow."
