🎙2022🎙

Every morning just like clockwork, before I leave for school, I make sure to wake up one hour earlier than I am supposed to because I want to have enough time to go out on my daily morning run and eat breakfast and get ready for school when I am back.

Running every morning has been part of my morning routine since my freshman year around the time I joined my high school's track team. I find running in the mornings for at least thirty minutes is a great start to my mornings. I walked out from my room already dressed in my sporty clothes along with my favorite pair of running sneakers.

I walked down the steps of the stairs leading towards the first floor. I was holding my phone and airpods in one hand. During my runs I always listen to music, most of the songs that I listen to are from my top one favorite singer Taylor Swift.

"Good morning, mom and dad." I greeted my parents, walking into the kitchen. "Just letting you know that I will be going on my daily morning run now."

My parents were sitting down on the chairs in front of the kitchen's island, my mother was reading her book while my father was drinking his morning coffee. I opened the refrigerator, took out my red reusable water bottle and closed the refrigerator afterwards. In my household, we have the rule that we always use reusable items and recycle as much as we can because, my parents and I love to help protect our planet earth.

"Good morning, sweetheart." My father greeted me, taking another sip from his mug. "Thank you for letting us know, sweetheart please be alert of your surroundings all the time and please stay safe during your run."

"Dad, I promise you that I will be always checking my surroundings and I am going to stay safe. You know how I am always careful, dad you don't need to worry about me." I said, looking at my father straight in his eyes.

"Sweetheart, I am your dad, so I have a reason to be worried about you no matter how safe and careful you are." My father told me, standing up from his chair then he made his way towards me.

"I know dad and I love you for that." I told my father, showing him a smile as I felt my father, pulling me into a hug.

"I love you too, sweetheart." My father told me, letting go of me after he hugged me for a few seconds.

"Good morning, honey, what would you like to eat for breakfast?" My mother asked me, placing her bookmark on the page she finished reading. She closed her book and placed it on the kitchen's counter.

I looked at my mother, showing her a soft smile as I thought of an answer to her question. "For breakfast, I would like to have pancakes with peanut butter and bananas on top, please mom." I answered her question, making my way towards the front door.

"I had a feeling that you would request that. See you soon, honey." I heard my mother saying over my shoulder.

"See you both in thirty minutes." I told them, looking over my shoulder before I walked outside. I closed the front door behind me, instantly being greeted by the morning breeze in my face. I took my air pods from the case, placed them on my ears and I unlocked my phone, I opened the Spotify app and began playing my running playlist. The second I heard the music in my ears, I started running.

Just like I had expected, the breakfast I had requested was waiting for me on the kitchen's counter with a glass of chocolate milk right beside it.

"Thank you, mom, it smells and looks delicious." I told my mother, sitting down on the chair and started eating my breakfast.

"Thank you, honey, I hope you like it." My mother told me after she had turned off the kitchen's sink. "Are you driving yourself to school or someone is going to pick you up?"
