Deaths Affect Everyone

Regulus's death not only affected his friends, it affected his cousin.

Or, Narcissa's POV after Regulus's death.

Reggie! No! Please! Don't go!"

"I'm sorry, Cissa. I have to." Narcissa startles awake by Alice.

"Baby, you're okay. It's just a dream."

Narcissa breaths heavily and jolts upward. "I can't do this. Al, I'm sorry." Narcissa was about to cry but holds it in. "I'm sorry, we can't do this anymore." Narcissa grabs her book, shoes, and coat and runs out of Alice's house, leaving everything else behind.

"Narcissa, it's time to join the death eaters."

Narcissa bows her head and takes the mark, only crying after she's alone.

"I now pronounce you Husband and Wife."

Lucies smiles sinisterly before kissing her.

"I mean with you. What's wrong with you?"

"What do you mean?"

"You know what I mean. I know you. I know you better than anyone. This isn't you."

"You know."

"What are you doing? Breaking up with Alice, being with the Death Eaters, marrying Malfoy? Why did you marry him?"

"You died! You're dead, Reggie! And I'm alone!" Narcissa jolts awake.

"I've got some color back, Andy thinks so, too."

"I laugh like me again. Draco laughs like you." Narcissa breaks down sobbing under the midnight sky talking to a fucking star. God am I pathetic. Narcissa thinks. Talking to a star like it's you. Like it's all three of you.

"I talk to the stars, too, you know." Andromeda says from the back door. "To Bellatrix, Sirius, and Regulus. I think it helps me cope sometimes."

"Not me. I just cry. I think sometimes they're actually listening."

"They could be, you never know."

Narcissa shakes her head at her sister. "It comforts me a little, but mostly I just cry."

Andromeda hugs her from behind. "I miss them, too."

"I think I might go visit Alice. She might not remember me, but I think I'm going to."

Narcissa feels her sister smile. "That's a good idea."

"You know, sometimes I think you have Ted and Dora but then I remember you need comforting just as much as I do."

Andromeda hums. "We have Teddy, Draco, and each other. I think that's all that matters for now."

"Yeah. Yeah, it is."
