or, a little fun Xmas fic that I wrote in January and decided not to wait for the end of the year to post it.

"Uncle Jamie!" Aries yells, barreling into the house. "Uncle Reggie!"

"Calm down, little one." James says while cooking.

"But, Uncle Jamie."

"Rose and Lillian are still sleeping. Quiet."

"Where's Uncle Reggie?"

"Still sleeping."

Marlene walks into the kitchen. "Hey, Jamie. Where is everyone?"

"Sleeping. You're the only ones that arrive a day early."

"Sorry." Marlene says sarcastically. "I just miss your cooking."

"You mean you miss Mum' cooking."

"Yeah. Yeah, I do."

"James!" Dorcas yells. "Where's Reg!"

"Up in our room!"

"He's still sleeping!?"

"Yeah!"

"Thanks! I'll be back!"

"She's going to go wake him up, isn't she?"

"Artemis probably went with her." Marlene says. "But, yeah. She is."

"Aunt Marls!" Rose yells and runs up to hug her.

"What are you doing up?"

"She's a light sleeper lately. All the yelling probably woke her up." James says.

"When are Mum and Mama getting here?" She asks, pulling apart from Marlene.

"Tomorrow."

Rose groans. "But I want to see them."

"I know. You'll have to wait."

"What about Uncle Barty and Uncle Evan?"

"Tomorrow. Like always."

"Dad!" Lillian' voice yells from the other room.

"In the kitchen!"

Lillian comes walking in the kitchen. "Hey Aries. Auntie Marls. Dad, I'm hungry."

"What do you think I'm doing?"

"Talking with Aunt Marls."

"James, phone." Regulus says, walking into the kitchen with Dorcas trailing behind.

"Marls?"

"Yep, got it." Marlene takes over James' cooking and grabs the phone from Regulus.

"Hello?"

"Jamie!!!" Lily' voice yells over the phone.

"Jesus. Don't scream in my ear like that, Lils."

"Sorry. Anyway, we just wanted to call you to let you know we're on our way."

"On your way here?"

"Yeah. Marls does it."

"Yeah, I know that. I just didn't think you would want to come today."

"I didn't. Harry did. And Mar gave in."

"Hey! Don't blame this on me." Mary yells from the other end at her wife.
