Despite their combined efforts of cleaning the room, it's still quite disheveled due to how run down the room already was and their lack of proper cleaning equipment.
After an hour, it's at least livable so they both call it a day, or rather a night. What mattered most to them was that the bed and desk are usable. The woman watches as Yuu returns to his own room to finally sleep.
In that hour of cleaning, Yuuken had actually opened up about himself as they shared parts and details of their lives, Y/n sharing the more domestic parts as the magicless boy avoided the pirate part all together. It was nice, being able to talk openly her life and her childhood and to hear about someone else's life.
'Heh, he really is a kind person. I should get him a gift.'
Sitting down on the bed, it creaking beneath her, the Devil Fruit user picks up her bag and sets in on her lap. While it's all fresh in her mind, she wants to write down ideas for what he might like or miss from his old world. She begins to brainstorm while looking for a suitable journal or notebook.
'He likes doing outside activities with friends, he's sad he doesn't have a "phone", He practices kendo- I should give him a replacement so he can keep practicing here too! Then we could even spar together!!!'
Content at how quickly she came up with and decided on his gift, the woman continues to rummage through the bag for a while, in the hopes of finding an unused or at least one of her less filled journals, but stops,
"... I have too much in this bag."
She's going to be here for a while, so she might as well organize some of her stuff around her new room. Setting her bag on the desk, she pulls out each item one by one.
'The log pose is gonna stay on the desk, that way I can see if it ever stops spinning. My wanted poster...'
The Devil Fruit user looks around the room, holding the poster with both hands. She's proud of her accomplishments, so it should be displayed somewhere where people can see it! Not having anything on hand to hang it with, she nudges it between the frame and the glass of a mirror and returns to organizing her stuff.
Pulling out a few of her journals, Y/n skims their content before placing them to the side after deeming them too full.
Most of those journals are filled with letters she's written to Morro and her brother's, Ace and Sabo.
When she went to stay with Dedan, she wasn't coping well with what happened to Morro, so Dedan told her to write like she was talking to him and it helped her a lot. Y/n did this as well when she thought Sabo died, and then when Ace died. Of course, after she found out that Sabo had actually survived, she stopped writing for him but still occasionally writes to Ace and Morro.
While flipping through the pages of one of the journals, a small, ripped, piece of paper falls out.
It doesn't take long for her to realize what it is, as the woman drops the journal to catch the piece of paper before it can hit the ground and holds it gently.
"Why... why would Luffy's vivre card be in some random note book...?"
Y/n was willing to brush off the weirdness from a few days ago, when shoes magically appeared in her bag. Now that she's thinking about it, most of the stuff that are in her bag weren't in there last she remembers. They were all on the desk she fell asleep on, so how are they here now?
Her questions are replaced by more questions, as the Devil Fruit user remembers what exactly is in her hands. Holding her hand as flat as possible, she stares in disbelief.
No movement, in any direction.
A pit forms in her stomach... she doesn't understand. None of this makes any sense at all, but she won't let this discourage her.
She's in another world, so there isn't anywhere the vivre card can go that would be Luffy's direction. What matters and reassures her is that it's still intact.
In case it does start moving, she wants to have it on her or at least somewhere she can keep an eye on it. For now, it'll be fine under the log pose to keep it in place.
Trying to get back on track and looking into the bag to see what's left, Y/n is stunned to see her transponder snail sleeping. Shaking off the feeling, she pulls the snail out and places it in the center of the desk. Despite being pretty sure it won't work, the woman still tries to make a call.
Uttering a hesitant "hello" and waiting patiently to hear a response,
"...*sigh* man, this really sucks!"
The transponder snail stays dormant. Making sure it isn't broken or has something physically wrong with it, the Devil Fruit user puts it back in its place on the desk and walks back to sit on her bed, feeling defeated.
After all that disappointment, Y/n decides to call it a night. There are a few objects remaining in her bag, but she isn't in the mood to find more things that might cause her to have more questions.
With how much stuff she moved around, her room is back to having dust flying around and feels too stuffy for her taste. At least it isn't as much as before, so all she does to combat this is open the window to let fresh air in.
Standing by the window, she leans onto the frame and looks out. The moon is full and the sky has only a few faint clouds, allowing the stars to be visible. For a moment she considers jumping out and exploring the area to clear her mind, but in the end decides not to. She can do that tomorrow.
Kicking her shoes off and laying down on the old bed, the woman remembers how she has a long day of school ahead of her and does her best to fall asleep quickly.
Y/n isn't sure how much time passed since she entered dreamland, but she ain't there anymore with the sound of wood banging, Grim and Yuuken accidentally waking her up. Forgetting what her dream was about and curious to the commotion, she leaves her room. Yuu's already standing in the hallway when he turns around and sees her,
"Did Grim and I wake you up? Sorry."
"Nah, it's fine. Did Grim go back to sleep?"
"He woke me up so I would go check who's there, so he could keep sleeping."
'Guess the little guy was too tired to check himself'
Y/n joins him and they go down the stairs.
"Speaking of, who would be here at this hour?"
Opening her mouth to answer him, someone else does and stops them mid-step,
"It's me, Ace! Just let me in, all right?"
Yuuken raises an eyebrow, unhappy. He just wants a good-night of rest after all the trouble they went through, without trouble following him. Maybe it's a small, easy fix emergency or Ace forgot something, Yuu tells himself, as he goes to open the front door while Y/n follows.
At the sight of the familiar collar, the woman covers her mouth to stifle her laughter. The three of them must have been too loud, causing a tired Grim to come down himself to see what's going on.
"Ace? It's the middle of the night! B-bwah! That collar!"
Unamused, Ace comes in and ignores Grim's wide eyes and Y/n's stifled laugh,
"I can't go back to Heartslabyul House. I'm joining your dorm. For good."
The woman's laughter slowly dies down. She had a feeling him Red wouldn't get along and clash, but she didn't think it would happen so soon! Neither Yuuken or Grim expect this and both let out words of disbelief, with the Prefect facepalming
"You can't be serious..."
"Myah?! Come again?!"
This is going to be a long night, Y/n already knows it and Yuuken is already dreading it.
