A month later Alexa's POV
The past month has been a drag. Ben and I have been great, talking every day. When my parents got home they were ecstatic to hear that Ben and I finally started dating, apparently they think it should've happened earlier. They've always loved Ben and wanted us to be together.
I've only heard from Alex here and there, since word got out about Ben and I, but I haven't given him the satisfaction of answering back, it's been empty threats, calling me names and trying to scare me. But, Ben will be home in a few weeks for Summer and i'm really looking forward to that.
It's a Friday after school and there's a party tonight at a house of someone in my grade. I haven't decided if i'm going to go yet.
I spend the early evening with my parents, watching tv and eating dinner. After wandering up to my room, I get a text.
Brooke🌻: Hey bitch! We're going to that party tonight! You've barely done anything besides softball and homework since Ben left! It's time to have some fun! James and I will pick you up at 8!
I sigh, it's not that I don't want to go, I would just rather relax at home. Plus, Brooke and James have gotten super close this past month, they aren't dating yet, but I hate being the third wheel. I close the message without answering and call Ben.
"Hey Lex!" He says. "Hey" I smile. "What's up?" "Nothing, i'm just sitting in my room right now. But listen, there's a party tonight and Brooke wants me to go, her and James will be there. I just wanted to ask you if you thought it was a good idea if I went." I say. "Of course, I think it would be a good idea if you went. Just be careful and stay with Brooke and James. You should go and have fun Lex." I nod, even though he can't see me, "okay, i'll go then. I'll try and text you throughout the night." "Okay, i'll be here, be careful and have fun, i'll talk to you soon." "Okay, bye."
After hanging up I text Brooke back,
Me: Okay, okay, fine, i'll go. I'll see you guys soon
I put my phone down and start getting ready, I shower, blow dry my hair, do my makeup and throw on a black skirt, white top and a long sleeve button up and my converse.

By the time i'm finished, it's 7:55, I look myself in the mirror and smile, not too fancy, just casual.
Brooke texts me that they're here at 8. I grab my things and go downstairs, I kiss my parents goodbye and then make my way outside.
