Fate or Sacrifice Pt. 1

Forth of July~
It has been a week since Amity and I started to fix our relationship and a week since The blight father and twins started staying with us. Alador has constantly been trying to do chores around the house to show his appreciation, but i constantly tell him he doesn't have to do that. The twins constantly tease Amity about us being together which is fun to watch at times, even when Amity's face turns into a tomato and she just starts to chase her siblings around the house. Today is the Forth of July carnival in the Connecticut square park and i had asked Amity to go with me as a date after school to watch the fire works. She seemed excited about it and im pretty excited about it too, I always loved the fireworks ever since i was a kid.

But i need to get out my thoughts, i'm currently in Music class with Amity and Gus. Lilith has been talking to the class and i should probably listen, "Ok class today for your in class assignment, everyone will be pulling a paper from a hat and you will have to sing what the paper tells you. But! you can choose to sing someone else's song or you can sing a song that you make up, that will be for extra credit!" Lilith clasped her hands together, "so i'm going to pick Luz to start us off!" she walked up to me with a hat in hand with neatly folded tiny pieces of paper in the hat, i shrugged and pulled at paper out unfolding it and read it, 'song you would want your loved ones to hear if you pass away' i scoffed, "Lilith isn't this a little depressing?" Lilith shrugged, "we'll tell the class what you got" i groaned and put in air quotes, "Song you would want your loved ones to hear if you pass away" Lilith chuckled, "Well if you choose a different paper you will take points away" i rolled my eyes, "Ok ok, i like a challenge anyway." Lilith playfully rolled her eyes, "Love the confidence Luz" i could hear everyone quietly laugh at us.

I got up from my seat going over to the piano and taking a seat, Amity looked at me with her brows raised "Luz you know how to play the piano?" i chuckled, "i know how to play almost everything" she playfully rolled her eyes, "of course you do" i chuckled and put my focus on the piano. I closed my eyes and let my mind think what i would want my loved ones to hear when 'i pass'. I wasn't quite sure what i would say yet but i will just let it flow, i started to play the keys on the piano with a sad tone. I took a deep breath and let my voice be gentle.

everyone went quiet and i could feel everyone staring at me surprised i'm choosing to sing a new song instead of choosing a song someone else created. I kept playing the keys of the piano with a sad tone.

'what could i have said to raise you from the dead?'
'oh, could i be the sky on the forth of July'
'well you do enough talk, my little hawk, why do you cry?'
'tell me, what you learn from the tillamook burn?'
'or the forth of July?'
'were all gonna die'

I closed my eyes and let myself go with the flow of the keys and whatever was on my mind, completely forgetting i'm doing this in front of the class.

I could feel the tears start to run down my cheek, i would never hope my family and friends ever have to witness me passing away.
