•IT WAS MID afternoon and Danielle was surrounded by some of the other girls that were on the Chilton volleyball team. Isabella had told her that every once in a while some of the team will get together to play a game of volleyball to remind themselves that it's all just for fun despite what the school and coaches try to drill into their heads.
Danielle was surprised to say the least. She thought the girls on the volleyball team would be more snooty towards her since she was new and from a small town. Maybe it was her mothers reputation as a successful and rich business woman but either way she was happy with it. It was easier to relax now that she knew they weren't going to give her a hard time.
At the moment, the group of girls were gathered around in a circle on the grass as they sipped from their water bottles.
"I have to admit, Gilmore. You're pretty good." Ashley, one of the girls, complimented as she closed her water and put it back in her sports bag.
"Yeah," Kennedy agreed, "have you played before?"
Danielle nodded with a small smile "Yeah, I was the captain of the volleyball team in Stars Hollow–well if you'd even call us a volleyball team."
"Why's that?"
"We didn't really work as a team." Danielle winced, this clearly isn't something that sounded good to her new team. She didn't want them to think that she was shit at team skills but she also didn't want to think that she was a liar so she carried on with the truth. "Most of them just joined so they could say they were on a school related activity. Most of them didn't even show up to practice often and when they did they half assed everything. It was hard being captain when there was barely a team to lead."
And it sucked too. It was very hard to find things to do in Stars Hollow that everyone in your group could agree on. Danielle had a different meaning of fun. Stars Hollow was okay but she needed something different than watching a movie in someone's make-shift movie theater in their basement. The only reason she really wanted to attend Chilton was to find more people who could share the same interests as her.
"Well, you're with us now." Isabella smirked, nudging her cousin lightly with her foot. "Nobody slacks when it comes to this team, right?" she asked her friends who all agreed without hesitation.
Kennedy who was once leaning back on her elbows sat up straight "holy shit."
Danielle looked her way, completely confused at the sudden outburst. "What?"
"Dont look now, but Tristian Dugray is heading our way."
Ignoring what she said, all the girls turned their heads towards Tristian who was making his way towards them with a grin playing on his lips. It must've looked like he was grinning at all of them. Some of them mistakened it that way. But really, his charming smile was only towards the blonde girl who sat criss-crossed on the grass, staring at him in confusion.
"I said dont look you morons." she rolled her eyes at them, causing Danielle to chuckle slightly.
"Well, Well, Well," he smirked, shoving his hands into the pockets of his dress pants "I thought it was you from across the street."
All the girls turned their heads towards Danielle with their mouths wide open. However, Danielle didn't pay any attention to him as she was staring directly at Tristian, mirroring his cocky smirk. "Watching me are you?"
He let out a loud laugh, but did not deny it. Instead, he turned towards the other girls who were still sitting around the grass with a look of shock "ladies, can I borrow her for a second." Danielle rose an eyebrow at him as he reached his hand out to help her up from the grass. She took it and he pulled her up with one hand leading her away from the group.
