Customers ranged in vary, but it was mainly businessmen getting their usual coffee and baked goods. The Starbucks shop was okay-ish with sunlight pouring through the windows and the surroundings created a nice atmosphere for those who just sat in the small booths to look busy. Steam hissed then dissipated into the air as people rushed in then out of the coffee shop and baristas shouted names of people so they could pick up their coffee or baked goods. The booths were just two seats and a small table which was relatively annoying, but every other seat was taken by some sort of college student or mindless people.
Odessa didn't really like coffee as much as she used to and when she did drink coffee, it would usually be very sugary since she needed coffee to actually keep awake. She wasn't a big coffee fanatic unlike the woman who was sitting across from her, seeing how the other brunette happily drank her coffee in small sips as if she were savoring the taste.
"I feel like I don't know much about you, but at the same time, I do." said the other brunette, gently shaking her plastic coffee cup in order to make sure the ice and coffee was balanced. "We've been talking for two weeks now. I mean, I wanna know everything about you, but I won't push you. I'm not the pushy type."
Odessa let out a faint chuckle at Aubrey's words and she mindlessly shrugged as she looked down at her sugary coffee that was barely touched. "There's not that much interesting about me." said the brunette, gently scratching the back of her neck. "Like I went through things that everyone else goes through. I dunno, I don't feel that interesting."
"C'mon, try me." said Aubrey with a soft grin on her face and she paused to take a sip off her coffee then she shook the plastic cup again. "I'm serious! I won't judge you or anything."
"Okay, okay." said Odessa with a soft chuckle and she cleared her throat. "Uhm, I was born here. My father is Mexican and my mother is Middle Eastern. My dad met my mother from the airport, he was born in Mexico but moved to Chicago, and my mother was born in Israel. So my ethnicity is like sorta fucked up, but I sorta participate in both of my parents culture. My childhood was eh. Like, I don't remember much about it."
Aubrey nodded as if agreeing with her. "I feel like most people don't remember their childhood because some sort of traumatic response. What was..hm, what was your favorite job? Or what jobs did you work in?" asked the brunette, her chin rested onto her folded hands.
"I went to school for culinary arts. Mainly because my best friend, Mikey, convinced me to. So I cooked at The Beef and I..I left to become a beautician. I'm still in beauty school and all of that." answered Odessa, her face suddenly feeling flushed at being put in the spotlight. "It's a complete one eighty though because I feel like I can't stay in one place for too long."
