the next morning, you woke up with the red head sleeping beside you, no hands completely around you or not his face close to you, but he was peacefully sleeping. Assuring you that nothing happened last night, just a sleep of comfort and the both of you mending your relationship.
No, you guys agreed to not put on a label as it has been a few years sine you've seen each other. Even with knowing each other their childhood, The six years was a lot of time that they become more and more apart from each other.
You got ready for the day you exit you room where Diluc slept heavy like a rock, you journeyed from the Dawn Winery to the headquarters to finally scout outside mondstadt and watch out for the fatui; and there was only one place with a lot of fatui diplomats were scattered.
Dragonspine.
You met a lovely teenage girl with a bunny headband; she was your partner in scouting right there. You didn't really tell diluc about it, he would nag to you about thow dangerous it is, how immune your enemies would be. how you weren't immune to the cold.
it made sense, Amber was just far but near to your abilities; but you can't expect her to kill them for you. You haven't really explored dragonspine when you were younger. at least the elders wont let you. this was also a mission from the adventurers guild with the reward of only twenty thousand mora.
-
Diluc woke up, looking at the side of the bed to reveal no one but a pillow. he could taste his dry drool on his mouth. it was the longest sleep he had in a few years. he was already grumpy first thing in the morning.
He stomped away from his room and leaned on the barriers, the three maids looked at him concerned. "Where's [y/n]?" He said with his husky mornin voice.
"She went to the Knight's scouting mission, Master Diluc. She left earlier this morning." the maids mentioned she did not indeed leave with one word. It left diluc mad and frustrated, considering that he was also late in his shift.
He tried to stop himself from barging into dragonspine and join the knight's mission and stayed by the angel's share. he had no intentions of going home early-- he was in a very bad mood and his workers knew that. They wouldn't like to interfere with his aura.
He was most likely going to kill Hillichurls and whatever monsters he could find later night as the Dark knight hero. He walked to the city, stomping, his glare to the ground was as sharp as blades, he was really pissed off- It seems like he did not like the feeling of 'Mixed signals.'
on the other hand, you were out dragonspine, blowing up and freezing abyss mages in caves and open spaces, ironically flirting with a fat and wet harbinger then freezing them. You and amber had a lot of fun flying down from cliffs and high mountain, making your mission simply fun.
The fatui recruits got less and lesser surrounding the Outskirts, The scouting ends right before dinner; everyone wanted to take out food from Good Hunter then celebrate the mission by drinking in angel's share. Who's idea was it? Of course; kaeya.
who declined? Lisa and Jean. Yet the two were forced Kaeya called them no fun for not agreeing. Mondstadt and the Knights were still strong and joyful even after years, it's just that something was clearly missing now that Diluc was no knight anymore.
After the mission in Dragonspine, you and kaeya entered the tavern together to feel an intimidating aura just about the bar counter, Diluc's glare was sharp, his grip on the glass was tight.
"I believe the tavern will close early today." Diluc rolled his eyes and turned himself away, leaning his lower back on the other side of the bar counter.
What? I thought that was only for week ends?" Kaeya put out a frown on his face. "Well, bad luck for you, Pal." Diluc said sarcastically."You all have an hour to drink and eat left, as soon as you do, clean up and leave." He said grumpily, Footsteps of steel heels were heard down the wooden floors, a witch wearig purple and a frown to her face came forward.
"Master Diluc, if you ever feel lonely, You are free to join us." She didn't smile one bit. "But, if you are having attitude problems, i have the right Akademiya capsule for you from Sumeru. I'd be happy if you turned that frown upside down."
diluc let out a scoff, an obvious eyeroll came from him as he stayed silent.
The others went to grab their tables as you stayed behind, watching him cross his arms in jealousy and anger. "Why so grumpy?"you chuckled, walking more near the bar.
"My two days stay has ended. Could i somehow extend?" You played it off cool, trying to hint that you just wanted to stay. His face calmed down a bit, his eyebrows dropped down. "How many days?"
"Unti-"
"One thousand five hundred, take it or leave it." Your lips parted, you raised an eyebrow. "Why is it rather cheap compared to the the first time i checked in?" You crossed your arms.
"Million." Your eyelids raised, your lips parted. You started to go red and burst outcomplaining about the price when theres not even one valid entertainment from the host.
You heard a chuckle from the man. "I'm only kidding, ofcourse. You're free to stay aslong as you come by the rules." Your heart beat came back to normal.
somehow, he wasn't grumy as he was earlier.
She sure knows how to get me.
