(i love this song since i was a child😭😭😭😭)
who would've thought you'd end up sleeping on the tavern? The knights had come back to their homes, your body was weak from the alcohol and your journey earlier.
It was only you and Diluc, his workers had gone home as it was the closing hours of Angel's share. Diluc had gone and exit the angel's share just thirty minutes after you arrived then came back right at two in the morning to see you lying down on one of the tavern benches.
he had to carry you home, after a long frustrating day of being mondstadt's bartender and batman. he told the maids to set you into bed, making sure you don't puke the moment you open your eyes.
He was still a bit Grumpy about it when the both of you only spent time with each other for a day since you came back. For you; he patrolled everynight undercovered to fight off scattered fatui to protect his god.
which he sort of knew who...
But nevermind that. He was sort of sulking when he gets reminded, the thought of getting alot of attention again to someone.
from a specific someone he loved. He missed those who would've thought, a grown man that's as strong as anyone could be, a heir of the murata clan, the great great great grandson of vennessa would be sulking over a woman he believed he hated.
perhaps, who would want to not spend time with someone they haven't seen half a decade? Someone that was close to you eversince diapers.
the next morning, he sent the maids into a break, because he simply wanted to take care of the 'Hangover' you didn't have.
He cooked the traditional mushroom soup from Fontaine; it was far different from mondstadt. Warm tea and brewed coffee on the table, he waited , reading a book once again.
Hoping for atleast a smile or one physical touch. or at least words that can give him a sign that you were not leading him on, again.the moment you step foot out of you room, you were already dressed, but grey and pale.
You marched down the stairs to see diluc impatiently waiting for you, his food almost gone cold. You brushed your hands on his shoulder with a faint smile, "Good morning." You said to the red head who cracked an annoyed smile.
"Good morning." his eyes twitched. You sat across him the table, looking at the familiar soup aroma you smell in fontaine's restaurants. "Have any missions?" You shook your head.
"No, but i am going to scout by myself in the outskirts." He sighed, settling his book down. "Why?" You asked, a bit curious of his attitude. "Wouldn't it be a waste of energy? You came home to mondstadt just a few days ago and you're already stressing, plus. You drank quiete alot."
You looked him in the eye, you pulled out a smug face when you figured out what he wanted. "That's not going to convince me." You said as He frowned and looked down. "Then i'll come with you."
you leaned back, crossing your arms. "Fine, suit yourself, Master Diluc." You sighed, a bit annoyed. You've been travelling across countries by your own for years, sometimes you even had strict mentors along the way.
But having someone as sassy and mean as Diluc? You started to question yourself.
-
You both arrived at once in a mountain, the sun was flaming hot, your skin was nearly burning and your clothes were drenched in sweat. You've fought off countless of Hillichurl calmps along the way, Your abilities were buffed by each other's visions.
"wearing such thick clothing in this travel is clearly a bad idea, Don't you think?" You annoyingly asked the man who wore his thick black coat, carrying his claymore effortlessly. Your legs were getting tired due to the mountain's uphill. "No, i'm used to it." He said coldly which ticked you off more.
"We've been non-stop fighting and walking eversince we left the city, Are you sure you're not tired?" You knitted your eyebrows together. "No, we still have four more camps to clear." You balled your fists while walking up the hill.
"You haven't ate." and that-- he killed a whole hillichurl camp just for you and lit up a fire to cook lunch for the both of you, he made sure you stayed inside one of the Hillichurl's hut to calm down the heat in the head you felt.
Was it normal to be like that as a cryo weilder? You knew a person that was like that, a young boy who offered you a popsicle sticks back in liyue. the sun rised down from the sky, leaving pink color that tinted the boy who called you to eat.. what do you call a meal between Dinner and Lunch? Lunner? you scoffed to yourself.
You were calmed down back to your mood, you smiled at the sigh of the food he made effort for, but you do not know how to repay him-- other than a kiss on a cheek, that should be enough, right? You doubted yourself.
You sat down beside him on the stairs where he was chewing on his own stew with an expressionless cake. You've kissed him once, why not again? were you afraid of rejection or commitment?
Your lips parted, you quickly brushed your lips on his cheek, trying to forget what you just did right now and see the look on his face. His face was priceless-- it wasn't even worth a million. It's just his cockiness that annoyed you.
"One kiss is not enough." He said, his voice blurred because of the food from his mouth. you sighed-- a bit embarassed and looked away to catch your breath. it was your fault for doing that. again-- you've kissed him twice, why not again? you turned back and put your face closer to his cheek that he pointed at.
you pouted your lips, waiting for your head to bring itself near enough to kiss his cheek.
Only if that motherfucking strawberry head didn't hurt his head.
Your lips touched-- almost like he did it on purpose, he did. You felt the wide smirk on his face, the smirk he always used to tease you as a young a child, a smirk he doesn't always put up to his face.
and it continued, over and over you mind till it came to the real world. he couldn't get enough. the red tinted sky masked the blush that creeped up to your face, you felt like you were frozen in the moment, slowly melting into the kiss he started and could never end.
