enjoy!

One month later

"Okay, good luck baby." Taylor kissed my lips lightly, stroking my jaw to try and soothe me. I was so nervous; this was the first really important game I was playing, and I'd been working so hard to train as much as I could. "You're going to do amazing." My wife whispered.

"I'll try." I sighed. "You take care of those little babies now princess, and yourself too." I rubbed her stomach and Taylor smiled. She was two weeks away from her due date and I knew how much effort she'd made to come to the game today.

"I will." She pecked my lips again. "I'll see you after the game. I love you."

"I love you too." I touched her cheek, my eyes lingering on her as she walked slowly away, cradling her stomach.

Trying to turn my focus to the game starting soon, I went into the locker room. I'd fit in perfectly with the team ever since I'd arrived, and they were all great friends, laughing and joking around as we hyped ourselves up for the game. Warmups passed quickly, and then we were out on the field, the game starting.

I felt on top of the world as the minutes ticked by, feet pounding the ground, shouts echoing across the stadium as the stands cheered their teams on. We scored again and again, all of us on fire, at our best performance. I played even better knowing Taylor and Abby were cheering me on from the suite. They had been my biggest support through all of this, and I was so damn grateful. When I'd made enough money, I was going to give Taylor a proper wedding, a proper honeymoon. I knew she wanted that even if she wouldn't admit it.

The stadium roared when the game ended and we won, people stamping their feet and clapping as we clapped each other on the back. After we'd had our post game talk in the locker room, I quickly showered and got changed, wanting to go and find my family. I said goodbye to the guys as I pulled my jacket on, moving out of the locker room. As soon as I stepped out, I saw Taylor walking slowly down the hallway, Abby toddling along next to her, clinging to her mother's hand.

"Daddy!" Abby squealed, letting go of Taylor's hand and running down towards me. "Daddy good!" She giggled as I scooped her up.

"Thank you sweetheart." I smiled, looking over at Taylor.

"H-hey." She forced a smile, and my attention was caught by the way she was slightly tilting forwards. "I'm so proud of you Travis, you...you did great."

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Umm..." Taylor placed a hand on her stomach. "I'm kind of...well...my water broke earlier." She bit her lip. "So...yeah. When you're all finished here we should probably go to the hospital because my contractions are kind of getting close together."

"What?" My eyes widened, putting Abby down on the ground and grabbing both of Taylor's hand as she sagged against me. "Princess, when did your water break?"

"Just...just after you went into the locker room." Taylor moaned in pain, doubling over. I held her up, rubbing her back.

"Mommy?" Abby asked curiously. "Mommy okay?"

"Yes baby." Taylor gritted her teeth. "Mommy's okay. Just a sore tummy."

"Princess why didn't you tell me?" I asked once she'd straightened up, breathing a sigh of relief.

"I didn't want you to miss the game." Taylor said like it was obvious. "And I could wait until afterwards."

I shook my head at her in disbelief. I couldn't believe she'd done a thing like this, but at the same time it was also so typical of her. Taylor never wanted to be a bother, never wanted to take away from anyone, so she'd fought through literal hours of contractions just so she wouldn't distract me from the game. Her forehead was slick with sweat, cheeks flushed, obviously in pain.
