Chapter 6

So, this feels like a filler chapter, but it kinda fit in with the story. I'm thinking of posting a second one for today, but the only thing making me question myself is whether I have enough chapters ready to go. I'm working on chapter 13 right now, and I can't wait until you guys are caught up with me!

I didn't plan half of this story, so the things happening have just popped into my mind while I was typing, so I hope it doesn't disappoint, lol. Anyway, here's 2k words of a cute chapter. Enjoy! ♡

With the warm rays of sun flooding through the room, the two omegas were starting to stir awake. Felix opened his eyes and looked around, remembering what had happened yesterday. He looked down at his mate, Jisung's warm hand laying on Felix's bare chest. He smiled and placed the softest kiss onto Jisung's forehead.

"Mmm," Jisung sleepily groaned. "Morning Lix," peeking one eye open to look up at his mate.

Felix giggled, "Good morning, beautiful. Happy birthday."

Jisung's eyes went wide, "Oh, I forgot today was my birthday!" He said excitedly.

Felix laughed heartily, "How could you forget, Sung?"

"Well," He exclaimed dramatically, "Someone decided to have us run away from our pack, so my mind was kind of stuck on the consequences for when we get back." He said sheepishly, running his fingers along Felix's chest.

Felix groaned, "Don't remind me. I'm so not looking forward to going back." He rolled his eyes at that thought. "Let's try not think about that, my love. What about going to that carnival tonight? That sounded fun." Felix tried distracting Jisung.

Jisung thought for a moment. He had never been to a carnival. Hell, he'd never been away from the pack territory before. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to have a little fun before going back home, besides.. we may not get this chance ever again. He wanted to make the most of their birthday weekend, even if that meant they had to go home in the early hours of Felix's birthday. He was determined to make this day a good one for the both of them.

"Lix?" Jisung looked up at his mate.

"Hmm?" Felix hummed and looked at Jisung, smiling sweetly.

"This may be the only time we get to be away from the pack, so let's not think about them today, please. I just want to enjoy my day with you." Jisung hoped he could have a peaceful birthday with his mate. No bad thoughts allowed.

Felix agreed, not wanting to pay their pack any mind whatsoever. He wants this day to be perfect for his omega mate. "How about we get up and dressed, go find some breakfast and then we can go sightseeing in the city, see what it looks like during the day. Then we can see what that carnival is about tonight."

Jisung's whole face lit up. "Maybe we can find another cafe to visit, too!" He sat up, thinking.

"That sounds like a great idea, Sungie." Felix sat up and kissed his cheek.

They got out of bed and got dressed for the day, making sure their hair didn't look a mess. They gathered their things into their backpacks, and after Felix made one last check to make sure they didn't forget anything, they walked out the door and headed to the front desk to turn in the key.

"Good morning. Did you enjoy your stay?" The same beta from last night asked.

"Yes, we did." Felix answered. "I've never slept on a more comfortable bed." Handing him the key.
