Beach Mommy

Kelsey's POV
I laid my towel down next to my friends. "Who's getting in the water with me?" I asked. A few of them volunteered, so we headed down to the water.

I noticed a lady swimming with a small child; she was so pretty. "Kels!" my friend Mia called, snapping me out of my daze.

I turned to her. "Did you hear anything I just said?" she asked. I nodded. "Yeah, you said something about the ocean," I replied.

"We were talking about getting ice cream," she laughed, then noticed my attention starting to drift towards the mystery lady.

She playfully splashed me, "Kels? Are you checking out that mom with her kid?"

"No," I responded, crossing my arms. "I was just admiring the scenery."

"The scenery is that way," she teased, turning towards the open water.

I rolled my eyes, noticing how close she was to the shore. "We should head back to the shallow waters," I suggested.

"You only want to go back because you think someone's mom is attractive," my other friend Frankie quipped.

"Not true," I protested, then paused. "I want to look for seashells."

"Ok, let's look for seashells." My friend joked as we walked closer to shore, I acted busy as she swam around looking for things.

I started talking to my friend when I felt someone bump into me I immediately lost my balance falling into the water I sat up and seen hands reaching out to help me up.

I grabbed them and was pulled to my feet quickly, it was the mystery mommy, "Hi." I said excitedly, "Hi, are you alright?" She asked.

"Yes, yes I'm fine, thank you." I replied with a smile, I realized this was my chance, I bit my lip and tilted my head slightly.

She smiled, "I was finding shells and stuff for my son." I didn't notice at first but she was still holding my hand.

"I can help you." I paused for a second and admired her, "If you want me to."

"That would be great, but first you'd have to let go of my hand." She said looking down at them, "I can do that." I said still holding onto her hand.

"Take your time." She said softly, after a moment I let go of her hand, "Sorry about that, I'm Kelsey."

"Scarlet, I would shake your hand but you probably won't let me go this time."

We collected a lot shells and I bonded with her son a little, he's about to get a new step mom.

I was sitting on the shore with her and my friend came up to me, "We're going to get ice cream, you coming?" She asked.

"Yeah, give me a sec." I said looking up at her before turning to Scarlet, "Well, I guess this goodbye." I stood up,

She stood up, "You should give me your phone." She suggested, I hurriedly unlocked my phone and handed it to her.

She typed in her number and handed it back, I was getting ready to walk away but she stopped me "One more thing." She said before kissing me.

I felt my face turn red, and my knees went weak, I was at a loss for words but I heard my friends calling me which snapped me out of my trance that

"Bye." I said with a smile, "Bye." She replied I forgot I was supposed to leave, "Your friends are waiting for me." She pointed out

My phone dinged as I was sitting with my friends I picked it up and it was Scarlet, "Are you free?" She asked over text.
