Danny

I growled and lunged at him only to come in contact with thin air. He was gone in a mere instant. I slammed my fist into the ground, frustrated.

All I managed to do was get my other half hurt. I didn't find my family and I didn't keep her safe.

I am such a failure of a wolf.

Suddenly I felt a presence behind me, a very familiar one. I turned around and saw a wolf. Well, the apparition of one. It was glowing a very faint green, and looked to be the most powerful wolf I had ever seen.

You are not a failure. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger little one. I know we still haven't properly met, but my name is Tabbitha, Tabbi for short. I am the Earth Moon wolf. I cannot stay long, but I can do this for you and your family. I'm sorry, for I have not been awake for some time. I have left you alone, without my true help.

Autumn, you must go home. Your parent's... They have not taken your disappearance well.

She spoke almost ethereally. It echoed around the hallway, ringing in my ears. Then she howled. It was eerie yet beautiful and full of power and authority. When she finally stopped she disappeared into Autumn, who had been silently staring the entire time. She inhaled sharply, and suddenly I could feel her again.

She looked at me, a sudden confidence in her eyes.

" I can... See... Everything. Every little organism hiding miles away. I can see the mouse hiding in its den from a fox, and the eagle flying high above. I can feel all the energy of the animals, plants too. I can... Feel her. Really feel my wolf. I can see her power and what it can do... What I- what we- can do."

Suddenly she frowned.

" I have to go home. I want to stop this madness... But I have to confront my parents first about... Everything. Why they never told me that we are werewolves... Where my pack is... I don't understand... It's all so complicated... I need answers."

I nodded. As much as I didn't want her leaving... She needed to know. I could tell her... But her finding out is her pack's job... If her pack was here to explain it...

As soon as I nodded, she quickly left, leaving me alone.

I swallowed. Our hunt to stop Jake and find my family, my pack, would have to wait.

" Why does everything have to be complicated?" I sighed. I was so disappointed in myself.

What if he comes back again?

" I don't know."

I jumped and spun around, staring at a girl. She was leaning against the wall, her arms folded.

She had beautiful natural blonde hair and sea blue eyes. She smiled, her dimples showing.

My eyes narrowed. " You're that girl... From the docks a while back. You are... Uh..."

" Carly." She finished. " It's been a long time since we last had a real conversation, brother."
