" Autumn, you need to stop being such an introvert and meet some guys. Seriously! Your seventeen, get out there!" Carly comments, looking at me.

I scowl at her. " I don't need someone in my life. Besides, there really aren't any cute guys in this dump of a town." I retort, gazing at the oceans blue water. My legs swing back and forth, dangling from the dock that I sat at.

" Well I saw a new guy in town, and he is totally beautiful. You got a pretty face, you could charm him if you tried." Carly pleaded. " Come on! Look, Jake is done. Gone. Poof. Stop holding back. He broke up with you remember? Move on, find someone new!"

" Yeah, I remember." I snap, glaring down at my shoeless feet.

I saw Carly scoot closer to me from where she was sitting. " Autumn, you need an adventure! You need life to grab you by your hand and take you on a joyride. You can't wait for the excitement to come to you. You have to go find it yourself."

" I don't need any of your wise talk Carly. Look, he isn't going to notice me anyways so why bother?" I mumbled, not looking at Carly.

" Why bother? Because he is coming over here." Carly states.

I resist the urge to snap my head up and look around immediately. I slowly lift my head up, trying to be nonchalant about the whole thing. It takes all my will not to blush at the mere sight of him.

He was sauntering towards us, a half smile on his lips, his emerald green eyes twinkling, his short black hair shiny. He wore a grey muscle shirt, and his well formed muscles stood out just enough to be noticed. He was tall too, at least six foot.

I glance at Carly, who is currently fixing up her shirt and hair, getting herself presentable. I didn't even think about it until I saw Carly doing it, and by then it was too late.

He continued walking right on by, glancing at me, his eyes bright, as he walked.

I stared at him as he walked. I quite liked the way he walked.

Snap out of it.

I forced myself to look away and at Carly. She raised her eyebrows and smiled at me, giving me the look she gave me when cute boys walked by.

" Giiirrlll, you know someone is going to steal him if you don't. It might even be me!" She exclaimed, looking around me at him.

I shook my head. " I told you already. I don't need anyone." I said almost bitterly. I found him attractive the moment I saw him. " It's never going to happen. He looked at me once and I could already tell he didn't like me." I lied, trying to force myself to believe it.

" Oh my god he is coming back! And he has friends!" Carly exclaimed, adjusting her clothes and hair once again.

I turned around, and there he was, striding towards us confidently. A few other guys, cute but not his cute, trailed him, laughing and whispering to each other.

He stopped in front of us, his half smile gone, he looked over at his buddies and they nodded their heads.

" Hey." He said hesitantly.
