Y/n's P.O.V
We had been driving for who knows how long.
It feels like it's been days, but it's only been a couple of hours.
I still haven't gotten over Macaque's sacrifice yet. The triplets haven't either.
They cried for about a good hour until they fell asleep.
They were currently sleeping in my arms while Wukong still held me close, caressing my hair.
"Feels like we're just jumping from one apocalypse to the next." MK spoke up.
"But you said there was a way to fix this, right, little man?" Sandy asks MK.
"Somethine about stones?" Mei added.
"Five-colored stones." Wukong said.
Tang squeals, getting excited. "The stones the goddess Nuwa used to mend the Heavens? I didn't think they were real!"
MK nodded. "They are! They're just hidden and guarded, and we have no idea where to find them." He laughs nervously.
"What?!" Pigsy shouts.
"It's fine. All we gotta do is gather five stones, find the pillar of Heaven, mend the cracks in reality, and fix everything." MK explains. "Bingo, bingo. Good as new."
Pigsy huffs. "Whoa. What about the thing where we don't know where these stones are?"
"That's why... Ready?" MK says. "We're gonna ask someone who does. Nuwa!" MK showed a drawing of the goddess.
"Yes!" Mei said with starry eyes. "She's gotta have a temple we could go to, right?"
"At the Burning Mountain!" Wukong told us.
"Oh!"
"Yes!"
MK and Mei cheered.
"What? No!" Tang freaks out. "We're not going to the Burning Mountain. It's burning!"
Wukong smirks. "So, are you gonna keep complaining while I do the lore dump, or--."
Tang immediately stops freaking out. "Oh, alright. The Burning Mountain rises high above the sunrise jungle of the East. Legend tells of a fiery beast the guards secrets from a past calamity and a hidden temple to Nuwa herself."
"There's always a temple." Mei whispers to Pigsy.
"Yeah." Pigsy nodded with crossed arms.
"But if that where you're going, count me out. I've had enough trials by fire without getting literal about it." Tang grumbles.
"Sounds like Tangy's onboard. Let's go!" Sandy said, making Tang eyes go wide as Sandy sped up the truck.

Thanks to Sandy's driving, we made it to the Burning Mountain in no time.
The triplets did wake up, though, beginning to cry again.
"Hey, shush now, it'll be alright, we'll get Papa back." I rocked them back and forth to calm them down. "We'll get... him... back..." I let a few tears fall.
"You alright?" Wukong placed a hand on my shoulder. "You've been quiet for a while now."
I shook my no. "I'm not, I want Macaque back, I'm just trying to hold it in for now, so the triplets don't have to see me like this."
Wukong grabbed my hand as we walked to the Burning Mountain's steps. "We'll get him back, I promise you that."
"Thanks." I smiled, rubbing his hand.
