1: Masked Man.She knew her name, of course it was Kiana, However, how she had appeared at the front of a cave, covered in blood, dirtied and dressed in an amour, she had no idea.
Or who it was that had written those words and why remembering her own name seemed like the hardest question a person could ever be asked.
Including the person had told her to find Prick of Rinace.
Who could the Prick be?
Kiana thought as she cleaned up herself in the lake she had found, she knew nothing of her home or family. she couldn't have appeared in front of a cave like a new born, neither could she have fallen from the skies.
Her head spined in pain, her body ached yet her smooth skin had no marking or scars to indicating she had been hurt, her long red hair cascaded behind her.
And so did the red markings along her coler bone to her chest like it had been woven deeply on her skin.
" Who could Prick be? And where is Rinace?" She questioned for the upteempt time since she woke up and found herself in front of a cage, abandoned, bloodied and dressed in an armour, while caressing the marking like they were the most fascinating thing she had ever laid her eyes on.
Perhaps they were.
Cleaning the blood on her body had taken hours, her spotless body made her wonder why the unknown person had told her never to visit an healer, why would she not visit an healer when hurt?
The questions made her head hurt, her heart throbbed, more importantly, the feeling of loosing something important weighed hard on her heart.
Steeping out of the lake was a problem on its own however, finding a change of clothe was worse, she picked up the bodied armour, there was a purple inner clothe which she took and washed, Kiana then put it on after it had dried.
She walked back to the cage and examined it in hope to find a clue on her identity yet all she found was a sky blue pendent shaped like a dragon.
Kiana picked it up, dusted it and searched for whatever else could give a clue, her search only brought her to a little purse filled with gold.
Unable to bear her failure, Kiana sat by the cave, perhaps those who knew her would come find her, afterall, she couldn't have written the words outside the cave herself.
A day went by yet no one came for her, she still felt weak and had had nothing to eat, she set out of the cave the next day, in hope of finding a place to eat.
What had baffled her since she jad woken up were her emotion, how calm she was, it was inhumane.
Perhaps she had no idea what inhumane was.
Kiana arrived at a kingdom after walking for two days, her strength had been drained, her face pale.
She walked into kingdom, there were no one on the streets, everywhere was too quiet, even the gate had no guards protecting it.
" what happened here? " she questioned, looking around the quiet streets.
Hours passed before she encountered a woman, " excuse me, " she called, the woman ignored her and scurried away, confused, Kiana continued walking into the city, not even beggars were out the streets.
By nightfall, Kiana encountered a tavern, the tavern was open, she walked in in relief, "excuse me, how much for the night? " she asked the Missus cleaning the floor.
" I am sorry but we are not open, " the Missus informed.
"Please, I have been walking all over the city for hours, I need a place to rest, even if it is just for the night, " She pleaded.
The Missus sighed, sizing the red head before her up, it took her a few minutes to think before she sighed, " fine, but it is only for the night, come in, "
"Thank you, " relief flooded in her, the Missus smiled and led her to an empty room.
"You can have your bath over there then you can come down for dinner, " with that said, she returned to her business.
Kiana didn't bother heading to bathe, she went straight for the bed and laid down, she had not slept for long when she snapped awake, her heart thumping in her chest as she looked around her in fear.
Whatever she had just seen in her sleep was terrifying yet she had no memory of it, unable to go back to sleep, she sought for a night walk.
Kiana walked without a destination, going anywhere her feet took her, when she realized how far from the tavern she had gone, she couldn't find her way back anymore. So she kept on walking, perhaps she would find her way back, she had not gone far when she spotted a masked man far ahead of her, running in an inhumane speed towards her.
Shocked, she stood rooted in her spot, unable to move away, before she knew it, the masked man had collided with her, sending the two of them flying to the ground.
Kiana groaned in pain at the impact, while the masked man stood faster than he fell, he peered at her as she struggled to her feet, not caring to help her, only concerned at the feeling clawing at his chest.
The man felt a familiar feeling with her, one he had only felt three days ago, confused, he pointed his sword at her.
"Who are you? " he demanded.Kiana remained quiet, even she had no idea who she was, what could she tell him then? She looked behind him, in case his enemies were on the way so she could make a run for it before the strange man's business became hers.
The masked man sized her up, the whole kingdom was meant to be asleep at the time, besides, they were still scared after the murder of the royal family and the court, why was the strange woman out at the time?
No one was strong enough to resist his peoples hypnotics.
" what are you doing out here by this time? And alone? " it wasn't like him to care, however, the strange woman interested him.
" I came for a walk, "
" a walk? Do you know you could die walking alone on Volta's streets by this time of the night? "
" i- I am new here, " His cold yet nonchalant tone did nothing to frighten her, it only confused her, deep down, a feeling of familiarity erupted from her heart, Kiana stepped closer, ignoring his sword.
" do I know you? " she asked.
The masked man ignored her question, only seeing her weak frame and pale face. Unbothered, He commanded, " stay away from me or my business, " He had no time to waste with her as he had more important things to do.
Before Kiana could say more, he was gone, speeding through the air like he owned it, the strange occourence confused Kiana the more. Exhausted, she found her way back to the tavern to rest for the night.
When morning came, Kiana did her best to convince the Missus and her husband into letting her stay for a few more days.
