10: Piggyback.

     " How? How can I, someone you have never met be your bonded or whatever that is," Kiana asked once again, disbelief and anger edging her voice, she had only known him a while, how could she be bonded to him?

Astor leaned against the rock, Kiana still straddling him, from her position, she had no intention of standing up.

Kiana waited for him to speak while she studied his features, having only seen his eyes, not his hair, she hated to admit but they mesmerized her, she had never seen such long white hair before, talkless of seeing it on a man, she resisted the urge to run her hand through it.

" I am a dragon human, a dragon descendant, I have been searching for my bonded for years, she would bear the amour mark, which you bear.

" At first, when I saw you laying lifeless and loosing blood, I couldn't breathe, I wanted to save you and heal you but my scales couldn't save you so I wanted to bond with you, the bond would save you and bond your life with mine, I had no idea you had the mark, I wanted to make the bond with you to save your life.

" Then I saw the mark, I was delighted, " Astor let out a shallow chuckle.

" Did you care what I wanted? What I told you I chose death over this?" Asked Kiana.

" I did, I knew you would hate me for this and it's okay, it's okay if you do, I would hate me too to be bonded to someone without my permission. I will stay far away from you if you want , I just want you to live," he tried hard to hide his pained voice, Kiana couldn't feel the bond as much as she could, she was a complete human afterall, Astor however could, it would kill him to be too far from her and he would go crazy if she died.

Kiana's shoulder sagged, she had no idea what came over her when she first woke up, it was stupid to have tried killing him, she couldn't succeed afterall, from his aura alone it was obvious he had more power than her.

" Staying away from me doesn't solve anything, I will be bonded to you for ever,"

" I know, I apologize but there is no way to reverse the bond or I would have done so," he couldn't look her in the eye, unable to bear what he would see in them.

She stood up from straddling him, covering herself with the quilt, she whispered, " then stay away from me please,"

" I will," Astor replied, pain filing his eyes.

Unable to bear his pain, she walked out of the room, searching for a place to clean herself, It didn't take her long to find the water Astor had bonded with her in, she sat in the lukewarm water.

Her chest filled with emotions that were too foreign to hers, anger, sadness, weakness loneliness and rejection including the ones that were hers, anger, pain, disappointment, confusion and most importantly, hatred.

The confusion of emotions made her weaker than she was when she woke up, she wasn't meant to yet she believed him,  albeit, she was untouched, she felt no pain like she was meant to and the bed was bloodless too.

Kiana sat in the lukewarm water, weakened from the bond and the feelings chocking her heart, she fell asleep.

When she woke up again, she was on the bed, clothed in clothes that were too big for her, they were Astor's.

Astor walked in, he had changed into a white cloth, his hood was placed back on this time, she wished he had not taken it off, he handed her a plate of food," here, you need to eat, we have a long journey ahead of us," he stated, then he left.

She said nothing, instead she took the fruits in his hand and ate it, she wanted to return home as early as she could, staying at his sight disgusted her.

She felt a pang of pain at her own words, Kiana rubbed her chest, Astor walked in again with water which he placed down without a word this time.

After eating and resting, Astor led her out of the cave, his hood was off this time but he had the mask on, only then did Kiana realize he was the masked man.

He held out his hand to her, however Kiana refused to take it, she still couldn't get over what he had done, Astor withdrew his hand.

" It is will be faster and easier if I carry us, or wound you prefer we travel by foot?" he asked, he could have card less at her attitude, but she was his soulmate, any pain she inflicted, Physical or emotional, stung harder than a sword being plunged in his heart.

" Oh, how long will it take if you carry me?"

" An hour,"

" how many by foot?"

" Two days,"

" I will let you carry me then," she said, hesitantly.

" Thank you," he whispered.

Kiana held out her hand to him which he took, then he bent down, Kiana claimed on his back, her first piggy back ride.

He helped her settle on his back, then he was gone, running through the woods in a speed that had Kiana's head spinning, her grip on shoulder tightened.

He must have noticed as he slowed down a little, though it was still to fast, the wind blew past her face, carrying her hair in all directions as he moved in between the trees.

Kiana smiled in awe as the wind blew pass her, it felt sureal moving through the world with such speed, Kiana had no idea when she started screaming and whooping.

" Wow!!!" She yelled, gripping his shoulder, " Faster please!" She pleaded, loosing up and spreading her hands in the air to which Astor's hand tightened on her.

" This is lovely!!!" She yelled.

Astor smiled in secret, also enjoying his power for the fist time in years, Kiana had never loosened up so much since she awoke, Kiana doubted she had ever loosened up like that ever.

They spent more than an hour to return, Astor deliberately reduced his speed so she could handle it, besides, he wanted to be with her for as long as he could.

She would want him gone the moment they arrived at Volta, he admitted he dreaded that moment.

He didn't want to be away from her, not even for a second.
