Chapter 10

Early as the rising sun, Miranda had already made her way inside the Vaughn mansion where Hillary is said to settle for a while. Nefetari and Hillary's house has been abandoned for quite some time leaving it to just the house caretakers. The last time the mansion was graced by the owners was when Nefetari and Hillary fought.

Miranda glanced at the eldest and only son, Hush. The man was clearly watering the plants at early sun rise. Flowers were barely visible in this place, well. It was said the Vaughn family struggled to grow flowers in their garden.

That may be meant for Hillary and Nefetari.

"Good morning." Miranda stops by the man. Hush was still groggy but it looked like he just went on a jog by the glistening sweat on his skin.

"Good morning, Miss Miranda. You look highly dressed. Seems like you'd be early money as early as now huh?" The man's eyes glanced down at the envelope of papers. His face immediately turned nonchalant as he knew what was in there.

"As early as now." He chuckled and went back to what he's doing.

"Yes..." Miranda felt bitter, everything was just too easy. Nefetari signed the papers so easily just as Hillary did so. As if they'd never loved each other into bits. As if they weren't brest friends turned into lovers, married couples. Miranda seemed to be more affected instead.

"Sadly." She said and looked down.

"Do you feel bad?" Hush couldn't help but ask.

"I'm a lawyer, I've seen everything. They were never the ones I expected." Miranda murmured before she slowly makes her way inside the house. It was never in Miranda's mind that she would be catering Hillry and Nefetari's divorce papers. It would seem bad but she made them her strandard. Miranda wanted something like Hillary and Nefetari.

The friendship and undying love, the oath of forever and eternity.

Miranda sighed and shook her head.

The maids bowing and greeting at her as Hillary was already in the couch, drinking some coffee and reading the newspaper. The woman had a low ponytail and she wore a black suit. Hillary is very much of a sophisticated woman. In love with the colors black, white and gold. Surely, it never brought down her looks because it only complemented her.

"You're early." Miranda wanted to applaud but she just sat down on the opposite side of the couch where Hillary was sitting as she placed down the files and documents.

Hillary puts down her news paper and looked at the divorce file documents. "Gotta show up in court as early, don't wanna make you wait." She said to Miranda. They would be going to court to finalize everything. To fully let each other breath a clean air after the whole mess. Hillary and Miranda, Nefetari and her lawyer then some witnesses.

Miranda nodded her head for Hillary's vigilance. "Good to know." She stated before fully fixing the papers on the desk. It was a moment of quietness with minor sounds of papers flipping and pens scribbling.

"Hey..." Hillary spoke first. Miranda only hummed as she goes onto her work even more.

"Did Nefetari said something to you?" Hillary couldn't help but ask wondering how it went since Miranda was the one to fully go to Nefetari go sign te divorce papers.

Miranda could only sigh and give Hillary a side eye. "No." She firmly said, it was nerve wracking inside Nefetari's sister's pent house. The way her two sisters were glaring at her as if she was the one to blame for everything when she's just some poor messenger.

"Her sisters did." Miranda reminded herself to never walk into a nest of birds ever again. It was intimadating and it showed the clear contrast of Nefetari with her sisters. Nefetari was always so calm and nice. Maison who she went to high school with, she knew the woman as nice but she was considered two faced. Maison can be the kindest turned to the meanest. Then Nathalie, the cruelest.

"Do they want me to die?" Hillary laughed bitterly.
