Chapter 8

Iris POV:
A new day rolled around and we were now in the backyard setting up the dojo to make it look appealing for other students to want to join. I just only hoped it would work, we were taking a huge risk going against cobra kai and putting a target on our backs since it completely brainwashed half the school. Including my best friend...or he was my best friend.. I don't know who he is anymore but it's not the same guy I met on my first day of school. He was gone. And I needed to find a way to put an end to all of this before more people end up in my situation. We walked out towards the lot of cars and my dad pulled the tarp off of one of them which was an old but classic looking car from the 80s. Me and robby both looked amazed at how nice it still looks

"Whoa.. Mr Miyagi gave you this?" robby asked, looking amazed at how nice the car still is and my dad gave a confirming nod "Yep. Best birthday gift ever" he smiled recalling the moment he got the car for the first time "haven't had much of a chance to get down here lately to take care of her the way she deserves"

"Something tells me theres a can of wax in our future" Robby joked making me laugh a bit

"Don't worry we got plenty to do before that" my dad said implying we had a lot of work to do

And of course I was right, we did have a lot of work to do, that was including setting up the dojo to restore it to what it once was. Some stuff I had to help robby with since he had his arm in a cast and could only fully use one arm. It was hard work but we managed to do it along with my dad instructing us giving us small lessons with what we were doing. And eventually with the work we were doing, Robby was able to remove his cast and use his other arm which made the work even easier because now it was going by faster. I couldn't lie, it was pretty fun and really relaxing. I was enjoying the small moment of peace we had before I had to return to the drama that is my school life. I wasn't really ready to face the others after I basically abandoned them after the tournament. I knew they would be mad at me but I also had a right to be upset after what they pulled, it was out of line and I just couldn't be on their side after that. It wasn't right.

By the time we were done the sun was beginning to set and the finished product looked beautiful... I couldn't believe we just did that. I couldn't wait for the first day of training out here. Eventually it started getting darker outside and robby had to go home and i went inside the house to shower since i was sweaty and gross. I heard my mom and dad talking as I went upstairs and of course my dad was talking about how he was gonna bet cobra kai and my mom was worried about how he was gonna balance opening a dojo while also tending to the auto shop as well.. I admit its alot for my dad to handle but i'm sure he can do it

I made my way upstairs and found my sister still looking pretty heartbroken over her breakup with miguel.. I wish there was something i could do for her, i tried my best to cheer her up but nothing seemed to stick. I knew one thing the next time I saw Miguel he was seriously gonna get his ass kicked for breaking my sister's heart. That stupid dojo messed his head up and he completely lost his sense of self. I shook my head recalling the events from the tournament.. The look in his eyes when he was fighting.. It just didn't feel right.

I snapped out my train of thought and grabbed some comfy pajamas and all my other shower essentials like lotion, deodorant, shampoo, and my face wash and went into the bathroom to shower. While I was in the shower I could feel all the memories from the tournament flooding back to me.. From the moment I stepped out on that mat.. To the moment that they won. From The moment I found out Miguel threatened Robby, to the moment that they injured him. It all came flooding back without warning and I couldn't take it anymore. I had spent a good amount of time in the shower anyway so I turned the water off, grabbed my towel to dry myself and my hair, put on my pajamas and my lotion then slowly went into my room seeking comfort under my covers. I didn't really feel like having dinner so I texted Sam to tell her I'd be going to sleep early and I wouldn't be downstairs for dinner then I turned my light off trying to get some sleep.
