Iris POV:
The next day I woke up pretty early around 3 am to get ready for practice. I was still pretty groggy but after splashing some cold water on my face I felt more awake. I made sure to move as quietly as possible, careful not to wake anyone up. I threw on the comfiest outfit I could find that wasn't restricting and I could move freely in since I didn't know what type of training I'd be doing. I carefully moved downstairs and grabbed water and a quick snack to eat on the way there, got my jacket and my skateboard and silently left. I made sure to shoot a quick text in the family group chat making up some excuse to why I wasn't home, and I'd be back later.

After a short journey I finally made it to the building around 4:30 meaning I still had a good 30 minutes to kill so I sat on the ground with my snack I brought from home and began eating. It was kinda peaceful watching the sunrise and the lights from different businesses start to turn on signaling they are opening up for the day ahead. I finished up my snack throwing away what was left and drank some of my water making sure to save some for after practice. Just as I begin to clean up a car pulls in the driveway and out the car is a shocked Miguel, I assume shocked to see me.

"Iris? What are you doing here? I thought you said your dad hated this place, why'd he let you come here?" He asked me full of confusion

"Well, my dad doesn't exactly know I'm here...He thinks I'm staying at your place for the weekend" I told him

"So, you lied to your dad and snuck out to train here?" He asks confirming his suspicion

"Yeah, pretty much, I passed by it yesterday morning and decided I'd stop by after school to see what was going on since my dad said he had got shut down but clearly that's not the case. And after that fight in the cafeteria, it looked like whatever the hells going on in here is working so why not learn a little self-defense since my dad seemed to have put the whole karate thing behind him so he's definitely not going to teach me karate" I say sighing

"Well good luck... Like i said sensei's methods are...questionable at times but its effective"

"I can tell it's definitely effective, not sure I'm ready for the questionable part" I said as Miguel laughed at my statement and just then a car pulled into the driveway and the same scruffy looking blonde man stepped out the car with a set of keys ready to open the dojo. I exchanged a look with Miguel before stepping inside. He turned all the lights on then told us to take our shoes off and step on the mat. While he left to change into the proper attire and returned. So now here we are. All 3 of us stood in silence before i spoke up

"So do i get one of those cool karate pajamas too orrr.." I said trying to be humorous to break the ice before I was met with an extremely loud "QUIET!" which made me jump a little as i didn't expect that response

"A student only speaks when spoken to, is that understood?" He said his tone slightly calmer this time but that same crazy look in his eyes

"Yes.." I replied to which he tilted his head slightly as if telling me to add onto that and all I could think of to add was "Sir?" What did he want me to say?

"Always address me as sensei is that understood" i nodded finally getting what he wanted me to say in the first place "Yes sensei" I replied, "And these aren't pajamas this is a gi and you'll get one when you earned it."he stated before moving to his next question "Ready to begin your training?" he asked me

"Yes sensei" I replied back preparing for whatever was about to happen then he turned to Miguel, "You two face each other bow" and we stood facing each other bowing. "Now Fight" He instructed Miguel to which Miguel protested "I can't do that, she's my friend! And i don't want to hit a girl-" Miguel Started rambling on and then was met with another loud "QUIET" making us both jump again "There are no friends in karate when you're on the mat she's your opponent shes your enemy you arent on the same team" He said instructing us to try again "It's fine miguel don't worry i'll be fine" I reassured him and it seemingly calmed him down a bit before we once again bowed and begun fighting and i had to admit he was getting better but i felt like he was going too easy on me
