Chapter 13

Iris POV:

We had a few hours to ourselves while my dad was working with demetri so the 3 of us decided to hang out around the mall for a while, we did quite a bit of shopping (we as in me and sam did most of the shopping), bought some comic books (aka me and robby did), and played a few games around the mall, we were mostly just trying to kill some time since demetri was gonna meet us for lunch later on after he finished practice with my dad. We had also ended up running into Sasha who had brought her little brother to the mall with her since he wanted to tag along. I also noticed she was there with one of her friends as well whose name I later found out to be "Natalia" but she goes by natty as a nickname. She was really pretty as well and I liked her vibe and we got along well since we seemingly had the same vibe and were about the same age as each other.

So our small hang out with the 3 of us became a bigger group activity making the time go by much faster and it was honestly pretty fun to hang around new people and if i'm being honest it also felt a bit healing in a way. I missed my old friend group deeply and everyday i wished things could go back to normal but with each passing day my wish only became a hopeless dream. Hawk clearly had no intentions to go back to his old self with this newfound "Confidence" and "popularity" he's gained which while part of me was happy for him the other part of me felt like the way it happened just wasn't right. Why'd it have to turn him into such a.. Violent asshole..and miguel.. He's clearly not himself anymore. Not only has he lied to me about wanting to make things right, he's still at cobra kai. And maybe I sound selfish but.. I just miss my friends. At least I still have demetri. No amount of karate could ever turn a guy like him into an asshole.

We walked around the mall a little longer talking and vibing to the music playing on the speakers before we eventually sat down to order our food pushing some table together to make room for all of us and we were engaged in a casual conversation talking about or id photos

"Sweet manbun" I snickered looking at robbys drivers license photo

"I told you it was a horrible photo" He laughed

"If we were friends at this time i could've warned you this was a fad" I told him still laughing

"Yeah well i'm stuck with it for five years, so no biggie right?" he smiled and i shook my head and i looked at his license again noticing his middle name "Wait. Robert Swayze Keene?!" i laughed realizing what it said making the other burst out laughing

"No way your middle name is swayze?" Sasha cackled barely being able to get her words out because of how hard she was laughing

"Okay in my defense my mom was a huge patrick swayze fan he was an actor from the 80s" He explained and i laughed more

"Yeah like i haven't seen dirty dancing like a hundred times" i said still snickering

"My mom made me watch it" he said but i wasn't convinced

"Made you?" I raised an eyebrow and he playfully eyerolled

"Okay maybe i liked it" he said and we both burst out laughing

"I'm more partial to his performance in Donnie Darko" Demetri interjected putting himself into the conversation sitting down with his food now joining us "Interesting movie. Time travel logic left a lot to be desired" and we all just chuckled lightly at his words before he looked to be trying to remember something "Wait. is today wednesday?" he asked us and we all hummed in response confirming it indeed was wednesday

"A new issue of dungeon lord came out today" he explained quickly getting up from his seat "Um do you guys want anything from the comic book store?" he asked to which everyone but me said no "Find me a x men comic i've been wanting to complete my collection but i couldn't find one earlier" i told him and he nodded

"I'll never understand you and your thing for wolverine but i'll find it for you" he said and i just rolled my eyes
