Life: A Chance On Love

It was a few days before Christmas and Sevyn was up bright and early decorating her house. She would usually decorate her old apartment earlier in the month but with everything going on, she hasn't gotten the chance so she decided to get a start on things today.

The woman sat in her living room wearing an all pink hoodie, with grey fitted sweatpants and a pair of black flip flops. She had her hair in an upright messy bun with the house set at 80 degrees since it was freezing outside. The house was warm and quiet which she liked since this was her favorite time of year.

With the soft Christmas music playing in the background, Sevyn put the last bit of lights around her stair case and above her fireplace before walking into the kitchen turning off the stove that was warming a pot of milk to make hot chocolate.

After turning off the fire, she grabbed the pack of hot coco mix and dumped it into the small pot and stirred it until everything was completely mixed.

Standing on her tippy toes, she grabbed two white mugs, placing it on her counter before grabbing an oven mitt and poured the mixture into the two cups.

"Jamari." the woman called from kitchem expecting a response in return. When she didn't get one, she placed the pot in to the sink and walked up the stairs to see what he was doing. Once she opened her room door Jamari was there laying on her bed with his phone in his hand scrolling on tik tok.

Sevyn looked at the man confusingly, cause she know she yelled his name loud enough for him to hear.  She walked over to him and sat on the edge of her bed looking at him but he didn't look up at her not once.

"You okay?" Sevyn asked as she waved her hand across his phone because she wasn't sure why he was ignoring her. Jamari looked up at the woman and nodded his head then looked back at his phone.

"I made us hot chocolate come drink it with me and we could watch a Christmas movie before you go to work." Sevyn pulled his arm in attempt to get him up out the bed.

"I'm good. I just wanna lay in bed." Jamari said as he pulled his arm away from her. Sevyn jerked her head back and looked at him confusingly.

"What I do to you?" Sevyn asked again, he was hurting her feelings and she just didn't understand why he was acting like that towards her.

He just looked up at her with a blank expression on his face while she waited for him to answer her question. When Jamari didn't answer, she got up and left the room, closing the door behind her. She walked back down the stairs and walked through the living room to go to the kitchen to grab her hot chocolate and enjoy a movie alone.

The woman sat on the couch grabbed the remote and turned it to Netflix finding the Best Man Holiday movie. This movie always made her cry but she still thought it was one of the best Christmas movies ever.

Trying her best to not be bothered by Jamari, she snuggled up under the blanket and sipped from the hot coco, watching the movie.

After the woman was done drinking her hot chocolate, she got up from the couch and walked over to her hallways closet, and pulled out the medium size blue bag that held the Christmas tree.

She pulled the blue bag out the closet and put it to the side  then grabbed the ladder in the corner, opened it up and stepped on it to reach for the brown box that held the star for the tree.
