The tension that was left in the room was loud yet silent. There were visible anger through each of the 4 young heroes, with Kid Flash being the most obvious.
"When we're ready!" Kid Flash exclaimed with a groan, running both of his hands across his face. "How are we ever supposed to be ready when they treat us like—like—"
"Sidekicks?" Amelia finished for him, flying around the room again and again.
"My mentor... My king, I thought he trusted me." Aqualad uttered out. There were visible hurt in his facial expression. Amelia stopped her flying and put one of her hands on his shoulder, silently reassuring him.
"I get it. If I had a mentor and he or she didn't trust me, I would've been like the rest of you." Amelia sighed out, looking onto the ground.
"Trust? They don't even trust us with the basics!" Kid Flash yelled in frustration, blood was definitely boiling in his veins. "They've got a secret HQ, in space!"
"Pipe down a bit, KF." Amelia demand, sending Kid Flash a glare while crossing her arms. Kid Flash did eventually zipped his mouth closed.
"What else aren't they telling us?" Aqualad spoke up disappointingly, clearing the silence.
Robin shook his head. "I have a better question. Why didn't we leave with Speedy?"
Silence fell over the group, not knowing how to answer the question Robin asked. Eyes are really hard trying to not contact with each other.
"What is Project Cadmus?" Aqualad asked, clearing the silence once more.
Amelia looked up from her 'ground sighting' to think about it. "Don't know..." Robin began, squinting underneath his black and white domino mask. "But I can find out."
Everyone walked towards the screen in the room. Robin started typing on the yellow keyboard trying to get access into it.
"Access Denied." The computer beeped.
Robin scoffed. "Heh, Wanna bet?"
Access was then skillfully and swiftly gained as the Boy Wonder moved his hands at a rapid pace on the yellow keyboard. The screen then went from red to green in the next second.
KF stared at the code in shock, mouth agape. "Whoa.. how are you doing that?"
Robin chuckled. "Same system as the Batcave." Clicking a final key, the computer finally went green, flashing a 'access granted' word on display.
Pictures and video files started to appear on the large screen, designated to Cadmus. "All right, project Cadmus... Genetics lab here in D.C." Robin read out as the other three read over his shoulders. "That's all there is, but if Batman's suspicious, maybe we investigate." He suggested nonchalantly, glancing at the yellow speedster who was already on board.
"Solve their case before they do..." Aqualad clarified, considering the options. Robin and Kid Flash were eagerly nodding, trying to get him and Amelia on board. "It would be poetic justice—"
"Didn't Batman told us to stay put?" Amelia quickly recalled, crossing her arms and shaking her head. "We shouldn't disobey them."
"Aero's right. We should be staying put." Aqualad agreed, nodding to Amelia as she breathed a sigh a relief.
"They told us to stay put for the blotting of the sun mission, not this!" Robin sassed, correcting the Atlantean and Kaloerean with a massive grin.
Kid Flash quickly sped towards Robin. "Wait. Are you going to Cadmus? Because if you're going, I'm going." He declared before the pair glanced back at the Atlantean and Kaloerean, putting up innocent smiles upon their face that begged for the two of them to join.
