(S2) Chapter 1: Happy New Year

5 YEARS LATER

Aero was hiding somewhere behind the sewer pillars to ambush Clayface while Superboy went to flush out Clayface. He suddenly skidded to a stop and found some clay on the ground before kneeling down to inspect it. He looked around his surroundings but when he noticed Clayface was behind him and in the sewer water, he was too late as he got caught in Clayface's semi-liquid hands.

"You always fall for this gag!" Clayface pointed out, before slowly engulfing Superboy into his body. "Struggle all you want, kid. Even a Kryptonian has to breathe!"

'That's my cue.' Aero thought to herself before flying out of her ambush position. "Let my friend go." She stated before punching Clayface in the jaw really hard and causing him to stumble while Miss Martian freed Superboy with her telekinesis.

Superboy panted heavily as he quickly dodged an incoming attack from Clayface.

"Delta Squad, we've flushed the target. Converge on our signal." Miss Martian ordered the other squad as she de-camouflaged herself in front of Clayface.

"We could play at this all day, missy." Clayface stated, transforming his hands into a ball of spikes. "Nothing you can do hurts me."

Suddenly 3 bird-a-rangs came from behind and latched onto Clayface's back before releasing many jolts of electricity, however, Clayface was unfazed by this attack before turning his head 360 degrees to face the attacker. He laughed at Robin's attempt. "That don't work anymore."

"Then try this!" Superboy replied, taking out a pill from his pocket.

As Clayface was about to charge towards Superboy, he quickly flicked the pill into Clayface's mouth and caused him to swallow it. Clayface gagged as the pill effect took place and exploded in his stomach before freezing his body in place. Aero used her Arctic Breath on him to fully make sure that he was immobilized.

Superboy walked up towards Clayface before answering Robin. "Distraction went off as planned, Robin. Thanks."

Robin came out of the shadow with a bo-staff on his shoulder with his left hand supporting it. "Just happy it worked." He replied.

Just then, Beast Boy came down the sewer tunnel and diving into the sewer water in his crocodile form. He quickly stood up and transformed back into his human form. "Oh, man, is it over already?" He questioned. "I didn't even get a souvenir for the trophy room."

Blue Beetle flew in and hovered in the air before replying and covering his nose. "Phew, dude, I think that smell qualifies."

Bumblebee flew in her miniature size around Clayface before re-sizing herself back to normal as she landed. Aero helped Superboy up onto the side platform and gave him a nod. Miss Martian pulled down her hood before pressing her comm. "Delta Squad to Cave, target neutralized."

"Good work, Delta. Come on home." Nightwing replied. "Nightwing out."

"Neptune's beard!" La'gaan stated in frustration, hitting the ground with his fist before grabbing Nightwing's hand to get up. "You did it to me again. And I don't care how many years you trained as Robin and then Nightwing. One of these days, you're mine, chump."
