That night, Hyunjin listened to emotional music on his headphones, sitting in a dark room with a sad packet of wafers beside him. Ava knocked on the door of his room, and he did not budge.

"Hyun?" she called out for him, and no response was heard back, "I'm coming in."

He could have easily said 'that's what he said', but he was genuinely woeful tonight. Add three crying emojis to that. As soon as his door opened, he squinted his eyes, "Who art thou? Disturbing thee at this ungodly hour?"

"I don't know if that was grammatically correc-"

"Shut up, please; this is my favorite part of 10 hour heavy rain sounds on windows with wind sounds," Hyunjin sadly spoke.

"...Okay?" she mouthed, and turned on the light of the room, and Hyunjin acted as if he was a random vampire from The Vampire Diaries getting burnt under the sunlight,

"LIGHT! NO! MY EYES ARE BURNING!"

"Alright, Drama llama," Ava sighed, "Listen to me. You can't be so sad just because of a rejection."

Hyunjin sulked, "But I really like him..."

She sat beside him, and he offered her his sad wafers. She refused but said, "Tell me more about it. How did you fall for him?"

Hyunjin wiped a tear off, "We had just moved in a month ago when the two of them moved in, right? So, I saw him carrying boxes into his house, and I noticed that he was not wearing a belt, and his pants were sliding down. So I ran over and held his pants for him."

"...Oh."

"After that," Hyunjin continued, "The next morning, he was watering his grass. I wanted to find a topic to talk to him about, so I started yelling at him about my grass."

"Hyun, honey-"

"But that's not it. I wasn't in love with him by then, because he smelled like old socks. So I anonymously mailed him my own Versace perfume -- it was my favorite one, but I gave it away," Hyunjin sniffled, "And his smile was lovely when he found the mail at his doorstep with his name on it."

"Wait, that's actually cute."

"So I tried to convince Kkami to befriend Bbama so that we could have a common ground and something to talk about, but Kkami is a stubborn little shit," Hyunjin groaned. Kkami, who heard that, was on his way to collect a group of other dogs and do a solo performance on 'I'm just Kkami.' If you got the reference, then please accept the author's hand in marriage.

"And," he said, "I pretended to dislike him so that he would fall for me. That's what I see in k-dramas, so I attempted that."

"Um, that's not..."

"But!" Hyunjin whined, "I really like him!"

"So, Hyun," Ava placed a hand on his shoulder, soothingly massaging, "Tell all what you feel to him. I can't be a matchmaker, even if I want to. If I took up that job, I'd mess up more stuff instead of mending it. I'm fucking awkward."

"But I did say that this afternoon, didn't I?" he protested.

"Hyunjin, you asked to fuck him. That's not a confession -- that's horniness."

"...Good point," he realized, and then turned to her, "What do I do? How do I woo him?"

"Hmmm," Ava thought aloud, "How about... you keep reminding him about how much you like him? Like, not a guilt trip thingy, but, like, hold doors open for him? Give him the last bite of your meals? Appreciate him?"

"Would that work?" he questioned.

"Yeah! And oh, wait- DO YOU LIKE MAKEUP?"

"HUH?"

"Tomorrow, you're gonna bedazzle everyone at college! Jisung would simp for sure, hehehehe!"

At the same time, in the opposite house, Minho sat in his room, still reminiscing about the previous night. If you don't remember, here is the context -- he cooked for a tad bit weaker Ava while she roasted him every five minutes. And then the two of them watched movies all night long until they fell asleep.

He smiled. He was beginning to like her roasts -- DO NOT TAKE HIM FOR A SIMP! HE IS NOT SIMPING! HE IS NOT A-

"That was cute."

Yeah, he's a simp.

The only thing he had recently been proud of was the previous night. Not because of making a girl feel good in bed, but because of making her feel comfortable and at ease. Minho's smile widened as he recalled how she had fallen asleep first, and he had covered her with a little blanket. Even though she snored, she looked cute, innocently sleeping before him. He had wondered what she had been dreaming about, but he was not sure if he wanted to know, honestly.

And here onwards, the romance begins!

(a/n: this chapter was not funny, I know, but we needed this!
