The Monitor's Ship

Dick paused slightly before asking his question that everyone had on their minds. "What the fuck is a Paragon?" Crossing his arms as he finished his sentence.

A levitating robot levitated next to The Monitor as it projected a hologram of the Paragons, all of the Paragons had pictures and it was them, all of the heroes on the ship were Paragons. The list as followed.

Paragon of Hope, Kal-El, Superman

Paragon of Courage, Bruce Wayne, Batman

Paragon of Love, Kara Zor-El, Supergirl

Paragon of Destiny, Nia Nal, Dreamer

Paragon of Truth, Diana of Themyscira, Wonder Woman

Paragon of Humanity, Richard Grayson, Nightwing

Paragon of Power, Deja Simonns, Wonder Girl

Paragon of Chaos, Polaris Melcaru, Scarlet Sorceress

Each of the heroes look at themselves on the hologram as The Monitor began talking. "When I learned of the current Crisis at hand, I did everything in my power to stop it but when it proved to be futile, I thought of ways to fight against it. Eventually I stumbled upon the Book of Destiny and that is where I learned of you eight, the people strong enough to save the multiverse."

"But what are we going to do?" Deja asked softly as she turned to face The Monitor. "That wave nearly killed me, again. If I can't stop it without my physical body being harmed then I don't know if there's anything we can do."

"Then we just fight." Superman said, authoritatively. "We owe it to everyone to fight our absolute hardest to save everyone that we can. The Monitor just told us that all of us single-handedly can save the multiverse through the Book of Destiny, so there has to be some truth to it."

Dick sighed as he and Batman walked up to Superman and Wonder Girl, prompting Dick to start talking. "Okay, then, think tank time. We need to think of every possible solution. This matter will kill any one of us instantly, we can't fight blindly this time."

"Agreed." Batman said. "We need to do this my way."

Nia walked up towards Polaris, whom of which was just staring out into space. She tapped on the metal railing as she got closer so she wouldn't startle her.

"You okay?" Nia asked as she stood next to Polaris.

"I think I'm okay." Polaris replied, she was obviously lying but she tried keeping a positive view on life but it was hard to do it. She looked at Nia and almost cried just by looking at her. "I just want to be happy." She let out, holding back the breakdown she so desperately wanted to have. "Every person that I have ever loved just leaves. Either by choice or they die, and I am so tired of it. I just want to be happy."

"And you still can be." Nia said softly, placing her hand on Polaris's shoulder. "I know this is an impossible situation." Nia spoke as her voice quivered, making Polaris put her hand over Nia's, the one that was on her shoulder, giving her a face of empathy. "But we will get through this, and we will get them back."

Polaris sighed as she held Nia's hand. "We just went through the unimaginable, and no one will ever know how that feels, except for the people who went through it." She finished, turning her head back to space. "I accepted death twice now. This time, I just wish I actually went."
