"They're back!" A servant declared as he rushed into the sitting room where Delano and Seraph were his hair slightly disheveled because of his run. "I apologize for suddenly coming in unannounced like this, Your Majesty, Your Highness, but I have just received news that Crown Prince Adrian is back... along with having in his possession the antidote needed for curing His Majesty."
At his words, both women picked up their skirts with their hands so they could rush down the hall, startling many in their haste. Gathering followers who tried to dissuade them from running so casually and dangerously as they were, Delana and Seraph merely ignoring them, they were overjoyed when seeing Adrian return safely.
"Brother!" Seraph called in joy when seeing him dismount, embracing him.
"I heard you found the final ingredient?" Delana further inquired, worry having grown when many months had passed by with no word—Kandef's condition ever worsening, even with a doctor's aide. "Please tell me you have found it. I'm not sure how much longer your Father can go on without it."
Of course, Mother," Adrian nodded as he pulled from his satchel the red flower.
"Truly magnificent..." she murmured as she stared at the piece of flora, entranced.
"Um... excuse me?" A timid voice spoke up, all turning to see Sofi raising a hand weakly, her dark eyes filled with concern. "Your Majesty? Could you perhaps explain in detail His Majesty's condition? I need to know for preparation of the final ingredient to cure him."
"Who are you?" Delana frowned, confused.
"She is the doctor that I took along on my journey since her father was the one assigned to take care of His Majesty," Adrian explained as he stepped forward, gesturing with his hand towards Sofi who by then was nervously tugging on the hem of her shirt due to nerves. "She's the only one beside her father that can cure the King."
"Of course," Delana nodded in understanding before turning back to Sofi. "To answer your question, the King has started to experience chills and heat flashes. His skin also is starting to turn a slight shade of... blue."
"Blue?" Many of the people around them murmured, glancing around.
Sofi pressed her hands to her lips as her eyes widened in horror, saying, "P-Please lead me to him right away!"
At her frantic urgings, Delana and Seraph left with Sofi right away. Adrian stayed back to momentarily give Basile further instructions to unload their supplies and have the horses settled before then turning to (Y/N). He observed her somber expression somber which made it clear her mind was anywhere but the current situation at hand, his lips twitching and his jaw tightening.
