The pogues are 18 in my story, with Aurora being older than them (20) and rafe being 21 years old. I am also not going to fully include the whole treasure hunt, this is rather my own story taking place within the obx universe with their characters but different story lines. Have fun reading!Aurora Marriott was a wild child, half kook, half pogue...also half Italian. Her father Steven Marriott met her mother Francesca Biondo when they were young, they fell in love and got married against his father's wishes. Mr. Marriott grew up on figure 8 a kook through and through until he met Francesca. She had just moved here with her family from Sicily and hadn't even learned about the kook on pogue rules, so when love hit them, it hit them hard.
Aurora enjoyed a relatively happy upbringing, she had an older and younger sister and a younger brother. Her father's traumatic upbringing had a huge impact on the way he would raise her and her siblings. Her older sister Lucia was 23, her younger brother Luca was 15.
Their families story wasn't easily accepted in OBX and Aurora grew up not really knowing where she belonged. She tried to fit in with the kooks but she just didn't share the same values nor interests. She and Kierra became friends quickly due to their similar background and bonded over their likeness in character and interests, even tho Aurora was a year older and a year above her in school. They've been best friends since they were 8 and it was through Aurora that kie met JJ and John B when they were teenagers, later on bonding with pope as well. Aurora and Sarah's friendship blossomed due to their fathers working together and having to meet up for family dinners. Sarah was the only kook that Aurora really got along with. Rafe, Sarah's brother on the other hand was one that she didn't like very much, especially since her friends and his friends hated one another so badly.
She didn't mind being around kooks tho, given that she was surrounded by them her entire life. She always tried to remain civil with them but every time she'd try to have a conversation with them, it just proved to her how unlike they were, so she usually kept her distance. They're behavior towards her friends is was pissed her off most tho.
As much as the kooks looked down on the pogues, Aurora always had a different status with them. Boys would make it a challenge to try and get with her because of her looks. She was highly desired, but never let any of them come close to touching her.
She knew the way boys would look at and talk about her and it disgusted her. There was no way she was going to give any of those jerks the satisfaction of being able to say that they had something going on with her. She didn't want to be viewed as an object, a price to win and to show off.Overall Aurora was a confident and open minded person. She was 19, had mesmerizing blue eyes with a yellow center and colored her hair red since she was 16. Her skin usually had a slight tan to it and she had those full features with her slim thick figure.
The pogues would call her and kie the hippies of town and they'd catch weird looks from others on the island when they would try out funky styles they got from thrifting.
Like kie, Aurora was vegetarian and cared about animals and the environment deeply. One time a stray dog followed her around for an entire week and she managed to convince her parents to let her keep him. She called him Gnocchi and from then on took him everywhere with her.Aurora was released a couple of weeks early from school and spent the time before summer holidays started with her family in Italy. Her grandmother had passed away and her parents had to figure out important family matters. It's been almost two months, but she was finally back in the obx and happy to see her friends again.
