Enjoy!

"This love left a permanent mark."

"Mum?" Hannah picked up the phone with an exasperated sigh. "Now's really not a good time."

"It's never a good time with you." She shot back.

Hannah was just grateful her mum couldn't see the way she was rolling her eyes. She adjusted Isla on her hip, pressing the phone between her ear and her shoulder to hold it as she attempted to fill up a glass of water with the other hand.

"What do you want, Mum?" She sighed. "I've got a teething baby that will not sleep, Lando's not been well all week and I now feel like death too. I don't have time for whatever this is."

All Hannah wanted to do was crawl into bed and hibernate for a week. Her entire body ached, her head was pounding and she knew from the state Lando had been in all week that it was only the beginning.

"We're in Monaco. I wanted to meet my granddaughter since you're clearly not going to bring her to see us."

Hannah couldn't quite suppress her groan this time. "It's not a good time." She repeated.

A quick glance around their apartment revealed it was an absolute bomb site. Lando's half unpacked luggage from the last race was still all over the dining table, there was laundry hung drying on every available surface and Hannah couldn't remember the last time she'd taken a shower because she couldn't put Isla down without her crying and she didn't want to wake Lando.

"We fly out again tomorrow. We won't stay long, we'll be there in ten minutes." Came the answer on the other end of the call before it disconnected.

Perfectly on cue, Isla burst into tears again, and Hannah felt quite tempted to join her.

She traipsed through into the bedroom with the glass of water and painkillers she'd been going to take to Lando. He was sprawled out, fast asleep still, but looking a lot better than he had done the day before at least. A quick feel of his forehead revealed his fever had finally broken.

It was good timing because he was headed off to the next race in a few days time. Hannah had been supposed to join him but given the current state of her and their daughter it seemed unlikely.

"Hey." He mumbled sleepily, capturing her hand as she pulled it away. "What are you two doing?"

"Coming to check you were still alive and being you some more water and painkillers." Hannah nodded her head in the direction of the glass of water beside him. "How are you feeling?"

"Grim, but better." He groaned, sitting himself up. "I am going to kill Oscar when I see him for giving me this." He broke into another coughing fit as he sat up.

Hannah winced as she waited for him to catch his breath. "Well, just to add to it..." she sighed and Lando looked up nervously. "My mum just called, they're making a surprise visit."

Lando looked at her in utter disbelief. They hadn't heard a peep out of Hannah's parents since the wedding. They'd barely acknowledged the news she was pregnant, and said nothing when Isla had been born.

"Wonderful timing, I know." Hannah grumbled, rubbing her forehead trying to soothe her headache as Isla wiggled in her arms, reaching out towards Lando.
