"Okay, class," the teacher announced, "before you all leave, let's discuss the assignment. As I mentioned yesterday, this assignment counts for 30% of your grade, so I hope you'll all take it seriously."
Jin looked confused. He had no idea what assignment the teacher was talking about. He glanced over at Suzy, hoping to ask her, but she was already looking at him.
"Group assignments," Suzy explained softly. "We'll be given three topics, and we have to work on them with our group members. We have four weeks that is, one month, to complete it. After that, we'll present our assignment, and our grades will be based on that."
Jin nodded, grateful for her explanation. "Thanks, Suzy. I must have missed that."
The teacher continued, "I'll be assigning the groups now" she said and started to announce the name of students and in which group they are. "Group E: Kim Seokjin, Nancy Jewels, Park Bogum and Bae Suzy"
Jin's heart skipped a beat. Being in the same group as Suzy was both thrilling and nerve-wracking. He glanced at Bogum and Nancy, who gave him reassuring nods.
"Also, Nancy and Bogum," the teacher added with a stern look, "you both are in the same group as Jin and Suzy, but that doesn't mean you can let them do all the work. Keep your mischievousness aside during the assignment."
Nancy and Bogum exchanged guilty smiles while Jin chuckled.
Bogum raised his hand in mock protest. "Teacher, we promise to be on our best behavior."
Nancy nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah, we'll be the model students for this assignment."
The teacher sighed but couldn't help but smile. "Alright, I'll hold you to that. Now, get to work and make sure you communicate well with each other, everyone." she said and assigned the topics to the groups before leaving the class.
"Why did the teacher say that to both of them?" Suzy asked, confused.
Jin chuckled again and explained, "Bogum and Nancy together are like double trouble. They both talk less and argue more. They're always at each other's throats."
Suzy laughed. "Really? I guess this is going to be an interesting group project."
Bogum and Nancy exchanged playful glares and turned back to look at Suzy and Jin. "We'll try to behave," Bogum said with a smirk.
Nancy nodded. "Yeah, for the sake of our grades."
Jin smiled. "Alright then. At whose house shall we meet for the discussion?" he asked.
"Of course yours," Nancy and Bogum said at the same time.
Jin's smile faded immediately. He looked at Nancy and Bogum, who were busy discussing something amongst themselves.
"Cool. So, at what time should we meet at Jin's?" Suzy asked, making both of them look at her.
Bogum started thinking while Nancy looked at Jin. Seeing his expression, her eyes widened. She nudged Bogum and signaled him to look at Jin.
