A few days later

Jin found himself focusing harder on controlling his thoughts. Just like he promised, he worked on keeping his mind sharp during missions, even though thinking about Suzy had become a habit. His brothers' constant reminders—and a few veiled warnings from his father—helped him refocus.

Today, Jin sat at a cozy cafe, waiting for his friends. They'd planned a breakfast hangout to catch up, but as usual, his friends were late. Jin glanced at his watch and sighed. "Late again... typical," he muttered under his breath.

To pass the time, he pulled out his phone and scrolled through some emails. One message in particular caught his eye.

He opened it and read:

Dear Mr. Kim Seokjin,

We have spoken to your secretary and wanted to follow up directly. We would be honored to have you as the chief guest for the upcoming business exhibition, which will be held on 19th October at 5:00 PM.

We hope you can join us for this prestigious event.

Best Regards,
Lee Group Exhibition Team

Jin sighed as he flagged the email for later. Another thing to add to the list, he thought. He was already swamped with work, and adding a public event like this was going to make his schedule tighter.

Just as Jin was lost in his thoughts, a familiar voice snapped him back to reality.

"Hey, Jin!"

He looked up, immediately breaking into a smile when he recognized the voice.

"Suzy, hi," he greeted, standing up a bit too formally, like he was in a business meeting.

Suzy raised an eyebrow, chuckling as she took the seat across from him. "Why are you acting all formal? It’s just me," she teased, gesturing for him to sit back down.

Jin let out a small laugh and sat back in his chair. "I thought I should be formal with you now, seeing how busy and important you’ve become. Big shot," he said, clearly teasing her for being late.

Suzy rolled her eyes, a smile tugging at her lips. "Please, it’s not like I’m the one who is not coming to university because of some important work."

"Touché," Jin replied, smirking. He leaned forward slightly, his teasing tone softening. "But seriously, you okay? I haven’t seen you in a while. What’s been keeping you so busy?"

Suzy sighed, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Just university stuff. As you know, our exams are coming up, and Nancy’s been dragging me into study sessions of business class, as if I’m going to absorb anything."

Jin chuckled. "Sounds like you’re getting good practice in avoiding business classes. I’m impressed."

"Hey! I’m not that bad!" Suzy defended, though her grin betrayed her. "I’m just not... into it."
