A week Later
The soft hum of evening chatter greeted Suzy as she and Jin stepped into Han's Haven. The restaurant had a warm, magical feel to it—soft yellow lights strung along the walls, lavender flowers in delicate vases on each table, and the faint scent of fresh bread lingering in the air.
Suzy glanced around, her eyes wide with wonder. “Jin, this place is… beautiful. How did you even find it?”
Jin gave a casual shrug, though a proud glint flickered in his eyes. “I’ve been here once or twice. Thought you’d like it.”
She smiled, nudging his arm lightly. “Like it? I love it. You have good taste, Jin.”
They were led to a small table near the window, where the city lights twinkled like stars. Suzy ran her fingers over the lavender centerpiece, smiling softly. “This is so romantic. It feels like a scene from a romantic book.”
Jin chuckled, pulling out a chair for her. “I’d like to think I’m the romantic hero in your story then”
Suzy rolled her eyes but smiled. “A little full of yourself, aren’t you?”
“Confidence, Suzy,” he teased, sitting across from her. “It’s part of my charm.”
Suzy’s looked around the small restaurant, her widened as she took it all in. "Wow, Jin, this place is really gorgeous! Not only from outside but also from inside"
"Only the best for my girlfriend," he said smoothly.
Suzy chuckled, shaking her head. "You’re really pulling out all the stops, huh?"
Jin leaned closer, resting his elbows on the table. "Of course. A first date is supposed to be memorable."
The waiter arrived to take their orders, but Suzy noticed something odd. The staff kept glancing at Jin, smiling at him like they knew something she didn’t. She narrowed her eyes slightly, leaning closer. “They seem very friendly with you, Jin.”
“They’re just good at their job,” he said smoothly, taking a sip of water.
“Hmm.” Suzy wasn’t convinced but let it slide.
As they waited for their food, Jin reached across the table, his hand brushing hers. His fingers slowly intertwined with hers, his touch warm and steady. “You know,” he said softly, his gaze fixed on hers, “I’ve been looking forward to this all week.”
Suzy felt her cheeks warm. “You say that like it’s been forever since we last saw each other.”
“Time moves slower when I’m not with you,” he replied, his voice low and sincere.
Suzy’s heart fluttered at his words, and she looked away, embarrassed. “You’re too much sometimes, Jin.”
“Too much in a good way, I hope,” he said with a playful smile.
