"Wah, they really said all that?" Bogum asked, clutching his stomach as he laughed uncontrollably, eventually rolling onto the ground.
Nancy wasn’t far behind, doubling over in fits of laughter. "A penguin costume? A PowerPoint presentation? Your brothers are on a whole different level of crazy, Jin!"
Jin sighed, rubbing his temples. "Yes, they really said all that. And here I thought they’d give me some genuine advice. I should’ve known better."
Bogum finally sat up, wiping tears from his eyes. "Jin, I’m sorry, but I can’t blame them. The idea of you parachuting into Suzy’s balcony is pure gold."
Nancy nodded, still chuckling. "I mean, if nothing else, it’s memorable. But honestly, Jin, what’s your plan then? Or are you hoping for divine intervention?"
Jin crossed his arms, looking out towards the street. "I’ll figure it out. Something simple, meaningful, and not completely insane, unlike the ideas my brothers came up with."
Nancy smirked, leaning closer. "Simple, huh? You do realize Suzy’s idea of romance might be different. What if she’s secretly waiting for something grand?"
Jin frowned, her words sinking in. "You really think she’d want something big and dramatic?"
Bogum shrugged. "You never know. Suzy’s not exactly predictable. But, Jin, whatever you do, make sure it’s honest. Girls can always tell when a guy’s faking it."
Jin rolled his eyes. "Thanks for the profound advice, love expert."
Nancy grinned. "Hey, better than a penguin costume, right?"
Jin sighed, his lips curving into a small smile. "Barely."
The three of them laughed again, the teasing lightening Jin’s mood.
After a moment, Jin leaned back against the bench, his expression turning thoughtful. "You know… I was thinking of just going with Yoongi's idea and confessing to her directly. Nothing fancy. Just… straightforward."
Bogum raised an eyebrow, his lips twitching with amusement. "Yoongi’s idea? You mean the zero-effort delivery-guy confession?"
Nancy smirked, crossing her arms. "Direct is good, Jin. But there’s a difference between being simple and being lazy. Are you sure that’s the way to go?"
Jin rubbed the back of his neck, sighing. "I don’t know. I mean, Suzy’s not exactly the type to be wowed by grand gestures, right? She’d probably appreciate something honest and low-key."
Nancy shrugged. "Maybe, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make it memorable. You don’t need a flash mob or a skywriter, but you could at least show her that you put in some effort. Girls notice these things."
Bogum nodded, grinning. "Yeah, Jin. Like, maybe cook her favorite meal? Or take her to her favorite spot and then confess. Make it feel personal."
Jin tilted his head, considering it. "Cooking for her… That’s not a bad idea. She does love homemade food. I'll confess to her on her favourite spot, then take her home and we'll have the food together"
Nancy clapped her hands. "See? Now you’re thinking. And it’s totally your style, Jin—sweet, thoughtful, and not too over-the-top."
Bogum leaned back, grinning. "Alright, Jin, but one question: What if she says no?"
Jin froze for a moment, his eyes narrowing. "Then you’re both coming over to eat all the food I made, and you better pretend it’s the best meal you’ve ever had."
Nancy burst out laughing, and Bogum gave a mock salute. "Yes, chef!"
Jin couldn’t help but smile. Maybe he wasn’t entirely sure how it would go, but for the first time in weeks, he felt a little more confident. He just needed to make it perfect—and hope Suzy felt the same.
"But what if she really says no?" Jin asked suddenly, his tone serious and a flicker of doubt crossing his face.
Nancy and Bogum exchanged a glance before Nancy reached over, lightly smacking his arm. "Yah, don’t jinx yourself! Why are you even thinking like that?"
Bogum leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees. "Jin, let’s be real. Suzy doesn’t hang out with people she doesn’t care about. She spends more time with you than anyone else. If she didn’t like you, even as a friend, you’d know by now."
Jin sighed, his hands clasping together. "I know that… but what if liking me as a friend is all she feels? What if I ruin everything?"
Nancy softened, her teasing tone fading. "Jin, even if she says no, that doesn’t mean you’ll ruin everything. She’s not the kind of person to walk away from someone she cares about just because of a confession."
Bogum nodded in agreement. "Exactly. Suzy is understanding. Worst case, she needs time to process. But honestly, I think she’ll be happy you told her. She’s not the type to turn you down without a good reason."
Jin chuckled bitterly, rubbing his face. "You two are too confident about this. I wish I felt the same."
Nancy grinned, trying to lighten the mood. "Jin, if Suzy says no, I’ll personally drag her back and lecture her about what an amazing guy she’s missing out on."
Bogum smirked, joining in. "And I’ll make sure she never hears the end of it. Don’t worry, Jin. We’ve got your back—no matter what happens."
Jin looked at his friends, their determination warming him. He gave a small smile, his confidence slowly building again. "Thanks, you two. I needed to hear that."
Nancy patted his shoulder. "That’s what we’re here for. Now, stop doubting yourself and focus on making that confession unforgettable."
