Chapter 10

I've been enjoying my life for a week now. I'm also feeling better and healthier after being sick for two days. I've also been in and out of Kylie's condo, but I'm paying my fair share of bills. I even bought clothes to wear because I don't want to go home to get some and see the woman I don't want to see. 

My parents and siblings don't know that I'm not staying with Quinn. Speaking of her, I've seen her new ads being displayed everywhere. It looks like she's really busy to even bother looking for me. 

I haven't spoken to her since the last time we argued. My phone was turned off, and I think such an act helped me to focus on my daily life activities. 

"Hi, Miss Buenaflor! Good afternoon." - bati ng isang grupo ng mga babae at lalaki na nakatambay sa labas ng isang cafe.

I smiled a little and nodded my head. They're freshmen, I think?

"She's cool!"

"I like her hair."

"Amoy mabango sya. Is she straight kaya?"

I chose to ignore some words I heard from them and chuckled while making my way inside the cafe.

Of course, I smell nice.

Pa order palang sana ako sa counter pero may biglang sumingit sa harap ko. Tumaas ang kilay ko at pinasadahan ng tingin ang babaeng naka grey slacks and grey na blazer. Naka curl sa dulo ang blonde nitong buhok at...mabango sya.

Her physique looks familiar. I think I've seen her before.

"Heidi is the name. Yes, that's all my order." - I heard her say to the staff, who looked so mesmerized by her. 

Namilog ang mata ko at nang humarap sya sa akin ay muntik na malaglag ang panga ko dahil sya nga si Heidi! 

I found her pretty before, but she looks exquisite right now because her aura screams of a successful woman. Her lips curve in a sweet smile, and her dimples show. 

"Hi, Rae. It was nice to see you here. How are you?" 

"I'm good. Ah.. I'm not expecting to see you here." - I cleared my throat to hide the fact that I'm surprised. 

"I'm an architect, and I just finished visiting the site near here."

Hinawakan nya yung braso ko at iginiya papunta sa vacant table.

"Wait, hindi pa ako---"

"Naka order na ako for us. It's on me." - putol nya sa iba ko pang sasabihin.

We sat across from each other, and I can't maintain eye contact because she's looking at me as if I'm her favorite thing to look at. 

"You look good in your uniform," - she said after awhile. 

I chuckled and caressed my necktie. "Really? Well, thank you. You don't look bad yourself."

She smiled, and we were just interrupted when the waiter placed her order on our table. 

"I hope you're eating sweets, or if you don't like it, I can order another one."

"Wag na. Okay na 'to. Thank you."

"Oh, you're welcome. Can we take a picture before we eat?"

I stared at her for a moment. She looks happy, so turning her down might affect her mood.

"Okay."

She laughed and pulled her chair toward mine. I awkwardly stare at her phone when she angles it toward us. I stayed in my spot, and she's the one who draws herself near, making her look like she's leaning on me.
