Chapter 14

"They're here! "- Heidi's voice echoes. I saw her walking fast but still gracefully towards Quinn and me.

They have this once in a while bonding of playing tennis, and Quinn tagged me along with her because I was invited by Heidi the other day when she visits our house.

I haven't spoken to Quinn since then, and it's alright. I'm used to her cold side.

Kumawit agad sa braso ko si Heidi at hinila ako palapit kung na saan ang mga gamit nya. Pasimple akong tumingin sa gawi ni Quinn at nakita ko na binati nya ang iba nilang kaibigan na nasa kani kanilang mga upuan. Caleb is there too and gave his own chair to my wife.
 
"Huy! Buti naman hindi mo ako inindian!" - naka high pitched na sabi nya kaya sumenyas ako na manahimik sya.
 
Inayos ko ang sombrero ko at natawa. "I don't have a choice, and I don't have anything to do at home, so..." - I shrug my shoulders and sigh.
 
She giggled and hit my arm. "Hindi ka naman mukhang napilitan kasi naka complete attire ka naman ngayon."

Same lang kami ni Quinn ng suot pati ng brand ng damit. Nag kaiba lang ng kulay.
 
I'm wearing a polo shirt and short skirt from the Ralph Lauren brand and white shoes to match my all-white outfit. Showing my legs isn't really my style, but I don't want to look like a nobody here.
 
"I like watching sports. I used to watch Polo and baseball, especially during relatives gatherings, and it's fun a little. Tennis is new to me, but I'm willing to try it."
 
She covered her lips and gasped. "Polo and baseball? I bet you're hot while on it."
 
I shook my head and hid the fact that I'm smirking. "Shut up."

Hindi naman ako pala laro. Kung trip ko lang sumali saka ako makikisali, pero kapag tinatamad ako kumilos ay maghapon lang ako nakaupo at nakamasid sa mga tao.

"Na saan pala iba nyong friends?"

"Busy. Why? You missed them? "- she teased.

I snort and turn my back on her. She chuckled and dragged me to where her friends are.

After some little chitchat, they decided to play with partners. Of course, Caleb chose Quinn, and the latter didn't even protest and gladly just accepted that they're partners in the game. That made me look like a fool at the corner, watching them play.

Quinn may be slim, but I'm impressed on how she could manage to move smoothly and hit the tennis ball with force, matching Caleb's way of playing.

"She's really good."

"Yeah, I'm surprised." - mangha na sabi ko.

Humalumbaba ako habang pinagmamasdan ang asawa ko makipaglaro sa lalaking may gusto sa kanya. 

"Caleb taught her to play tennis back in college."

Dahil sa narinig ay napalingon ako kay Heidi. Nakatitig din sya sa dalawa na nasa court.

"Oh, talaga?"

She nodded. "Minsan ginagabi pa yan sila mag practice. Kung hindi lang namin sila kilala iisipin talaga namin na mag jowa sila kasi ang sweet ni Caleb kay Quinn."

I cleared my throat and pulled the collar of my shirt. I can't breathe properly.

Okay lang. Wala pa naman ako sa buhay nya nuon.

"May pag asa naman siguro si Caleb kung hindi lang talaga iba ang nagustuhan ni Quinn."

"Si Kuya..."

"Yup!" - I felt her shift in her seat. Her warm hand accidentally side swiped mine. "I can't blame her for liking him because he's really prince coded. I think, half of the girls in the university back then were attracted to him.
