Crossroads | Sookai

Chapter 7

Kai enters the cafe first and Soobin enters closely behind him. The cafe surprisingly isn't too crowded today. They decided to sit at the same table as last time, wanting to enjoy a nice view again. Huening Kat sat down first but Soobin remained standing.

"I'll get us our drinks, you stay here okay?" Kai nodded as the older walked to the counter to order, leaving Kai alone with his thoughts. His mind started to wander to the bandages Soobin had, because little did he know, but Kai could actually tell that Soobin was lying. What would be so bad that he couldn't tell me...maybe it was something embarrassing? He thought, but still pretty unsure. He thought about all the possibilities, forgetting about his surroundings, until he felt something poking his cheek, snapping him back to reality. He saw two cups of of bubble tea at the side on of the table, but in front of him was Soobin leaning over the table, poking his cheek trying to get his attention.

"Kai?? Are you gonna keep ignoring me?" Soobin said with a pout. Huening Kai's heart fluttered. He never knew how someone could be so attractive yet so cute at the same time. He shook his head out of his thoughts.

"Oh sorry, I was just lost in thought," He awkwardly laughed.

Soobin raised an eyebrow as he sat down properly in his chair. "You must've been thinking about a lot, I was calling your name for a while and had to resort to poking you, I really thought you were ignoring me,"

Kai shook his head again, starting to feel bad. "I'm truly sorry, I had a lot in my mind."

Soobin smiled as he slid Kai's drink to him, also sliding a paper bag with the drink.

"Don't be sorry, you're lucky you're so cute. Now drink up and look in the bag," Soobin smiled.

Kai begin to feel his face heat up. "Choi Soobin since when did you become such a flirt..." The older smirked.

"Flirting? I'm just being honest," He explains as he gives him his bunny like smile. That was enough to make Kai pretty flustered and he quickly grabs his drink near him and opens the paper bag to change the topic. He opens the bag to see two cookies, one that looked like a penguin and one that looked like a bunny. He awed at them and looked back at Soobin.

"Awww, they're so cuteee...how am I supposed to eat them???" Kai slightly whined. Soobin chuckled.

"We can eat it later, for now, drink up and tell me what you think," The older said, looking expectantly at the younger. He picked up his drink and took a sip, immediately being amazed by the sweet flavor and the boba.

"It's amazing!! How did we not get this sooner???" said Hueningkai excitedly, making Soobin smile.

"I knew you'd like it, I remember you mentioning that you like sweet drinks," Kai is slightly shocked that he remembered something so small but nevertheless, he felt that they had a more closer bond than a couple of days ago.

He picked up the paper bag again and took out the cookies, giving Soobin the bunny one.

"Here, it reminds me of you," Kai smiled cheekily. Soobin frowned.

"I don't see any resemblance..."

"You may not see it but I'm pretty sure everyone else sees it" Soobin scoffed jokingly.

"I doubt anyone would agree" the older shot back.

"Keep telling yourself that," Kai smiled cheekily as he took a bite of his cookie. Immediately he was amazed by the flavor, he expected it to taste bland and cheap but he was very wrong.

"The cookies are good here too??? What doesn't this place have????" Kai exclaimed, making Soobin unconsciously smile. He didn't realize it but he was pretty much staring at Kai adoringly.
