Soobin woke up pretty sore and he felt stings along his body, reminding him about his job that he carried out the night before. He got up and went to his bathroom to check how bad his cars got. He had some cuts on his arms, his ribs were bruised, and he had a slit above his eyebrow. He sighed knowing the process to clean up the wounds would be painful but he he had to get ready for his meet up with Kai.
Just then he remembered he was meeting up with Huening Kai and he had to hide his scars since he didn't want him to worry. He grabbed his phone to check the time and his eyes widened seeing the time. 11:30, leaving him half an hour to do everything. He groaned as he rushed since he didn't want to keep the younger waiting for too long.
Huening Kai was a sobbing mess on the couch since he just finished watching one of his favorite K-dramas, and his best friend was sitting next to him, patting his back in hopes he'd stop crying.
"It's okay Kai..."
"I know...but they finally got to together in the end after everything they've been through" Kai explained, trying not to sob in the middle of the explanation. He checked his phone and saw that it was suddenly 11:30, unaware that he just spent the whole morning watching his show.
He suddenly stopped crying and put a smile on his face. "Oh I should get ready to meet up with Soobin," He got up from the couch and skipped to his room joyfully. Taehyun chuckled in disbelief of his sudden switch up. He shook his head and went back to the kitchen where he was originally making breakfast.
Huening Kai rummaged through his closet having a hard time deciding what to wear. He found himself wanting to look good for Soobin but he shook his head trying to snap out of it. I need to remember it's not a date...it's just a hang out...He took a deep breath as he decided to look through his wardrobe more calmly. He settled for a white hoodie with some black pants. He checked the time again to see that it was 11:55, letting him know that he had to leave ASAP. He checked himself in his mirror one last time before he left him room and ran past the living room.
"Bye Tae I'll be back in a couple of hours!"
"Don't do anything stupid!" yelled his best friend right before Huening Kai shut the door and ran downstairs to wait in front of his dorm. When he made it outside, he crouched a bit and tried to catch his breath after running down a couple of flights of stairs. Man, maybe I should start working out...He thinks as he lets out a cough. He pulled out his phone to recheck the time and saw it was 12:10. Woah, it took me that long just to go downstairs?? He questions internally, now starting to seriously think about working out.
He goes on his phone to pass time and the next thing he knows, it is 12:20 and he hasn't received any word from Soobin. Did he forget? Or...did he ditch...? Huening Kai sighed to himself as the feeling of disappointment started to overwhelm him. He turned to face his dorm and started to walk back inside. Suddenly, he heard some rapid footsteps.
"Wait!" and not long after he felt a hand on his wrist. He turns around to see Soobin. He was wearing a grey hoodie with black pants, his hair looked slightly messy most likely from running and he was obviously out of breath.
He took a moment to catch his breath before he spoke up. "I'm sorry I ran late, I really didn't mean to, and getting ready took longer than expected." He looked at the younger apologetically, hoping he wouldn't be mad about his big delay. Kai saw the look on the other's face and he knew he couldn't stay mad. He gently smiled at the older and shook the hand that grabbed his wrist.
"It's ok, stuff happens," Kai reassured. Soobin sighed in relief that it didn't turn into something big. He saw that he still had a grip on the other's wrist and quickly let go.
He looked down and scratched his neck, somewhat embarrassed. "Sorry about that..."
The younger felt his face turn slightly hot as he realized the situation and he struggled to put words out. "Oh...i-it's okay..." He mentally slapped himself for stuttering but he wanted to change the topic before things got more awkward.
"Let's get going now, yeah?" The older nodded in agreement as he began to lead the way to the cafe. They walked in a comfortable silence for a bit before Huening Kai looked over to the older. He had to admit that his messy hair made him look more good looking than usual but then he noticed that he had a small bandage above his eyebrow. Did he fall? He thought with concern. He looked down to avoid staring at his face but he saw their hands were pretty close together, occasionally touching. It made his heart flutter but then he realized another thing that was off. There seemed to be a bandage wrapped around the area near his wrist and assumed it went on his arm too.
He looked up again and finally built up the courage to show his concern. "Hey, are you okay?" Soobin looked at him confused.
"What do you mean?"
"I noticed you have a bandage on your face and your hand...did something happen?" He asked worriedly. Soobin slightly panicked since it didn't cross his mind that Kai would actually notice the bandages, and he didn't want to tell him the real reason since he didn't want to scare him away. He wracked his brain to come up with a quick excuse.
"I uh...I fell! I was trying to move my couch last night and I fell pretty bad. But don't worry I'm not in pain or anything," he smiled softly at the younger, patting his back reassuringly. Kai looked at him with worried eyes.
"Are you sure? Because I don't want you to strain yourself if you got hurt badly," Soobin found it cute how worried he was about him, but he rested an arm on his shoulder.
"Aww, you're too cute...but don't worry about me okay? I mean it. If I ever feel bad I'll tell you ok?" He said, looking at the younger adoringly.
Huening Kai's face began to feel hot and he could only muster out a nod. Before they knew it, they made it to the cafe.
"After you,"
