Soobin helped Kai for around an hour and by the end of the study session, Kai's brain felt fried. But at least he was able to actually comprehend his notes now and now he had genuine hope that his grade wasn't destined to be doomed. Kai closed his notes and cleaned up, looking at Soobin.

"Thank you a lot Soobin, truly," Kai smiled to the older, now holding his notebook and his textbook.

"Oh it's nothing really, I heard that you understand something better when you explain it to someone else so I should be thanking you" Soobin smirked. Kai chuckled lightly as he shook his head and stood up from his chair.

"Now I believe I have some debt to pay, no?"

"I believe you do," Soobin smirked once again as he also stood up from his seat.

"Did you have a place in mind?" Kai asked curiously. The blonde took a second to ponder the best coffee place on campus to impress the other, until he finally came to a conclusion.

"Well I heard the MOA Cafe is pretty good," Soobin suggested. Kai nodded as he gestured for Soobin to lead the way.

As they journeyed to the MOA Cafe, the campus was filled with commotion from students rushing to their classes while others were goofing around while tossing around a ball. The weather was warm but with a nice cold breeze that canceled it out, making this the perfect weather to go out.

"So, what made you want to major in film and visual arts?" Soobin asked, breaking the silence.

"Hmm, well when I was younger, my sisters would always drag me to watch movies with them but I eventually fell in love with it. I liked the idea of being able to tell a story, and I also want an audience to feel the same joy I felt watching movies,"

Soobin nodded, being genuinely interested.

"That's pretty cool, and I like your intentions behind wanting to tell a story through a screen, it's really sweet." Soobin couldn't help but smile at the boy's wholesomeness.

"And you? What made you wanna join?" Kai asked as they started to near the cafe.

"I always liked writing my own stories but seeing them written wasn't enough for me. Until I got the idea to bring my ideas to a big screen and I was hooked ever since" Soobin explained. He didn't feel that it was as meaningful as Kai's but he's just happy that Kai is willing to share that much with him.

Kai nods as they enter the cafe, being greeted with the scent of fresh coffee and the sounds of soft music playing in the background. Luckily the cafe wasn't too crowded at this hour so there was more than enough options to choose from. They ended up settling with a table near a window, the sun shining gently on their face and with a nice view of the scenery.

"Shall I get our Americanos?" Soobin asked politely. Kai shook his head which stunned him a little.

"Well I said I'd be paying so I'll get it for us, wait for me here," Kai reassured the other as he left to place their order. Soobin took a seat and not too long after Kai returned with their Americanos. He took a seat and sipped their freshly made Americano, gushing about how tasty it was. Their conversation flowed nicely and they both felt the connection between them strengthening.

"Got any plans after graduation?" Kai asked. Soobin dreaded any thoughts about the future because then he'd get reminded of his other life and his fear of leaving it. His facial expression darkened as he hesitated to answer.

"I'm...uh...still figuring some stuff out..."Soobin trailed off as he rested his hands on the tab;e. Kai sensed his hesitance and decided to not push him any further.

"Don't worry, I'm sure things will go in your favor and things will work out for you" Kai smiled and placed his hands on Soobin's, in an attempt to cheer him up.

Soobin started to become slightly flustered by his actions but he smiled softly at Kai, trying not to make it obvious. "Thanks Kai, it means a lot,"

They looked outside the cafe window and realized the sun was starting to set. Both were shocked by the amount of time they spent together.

"Wow, it's been that long already...we should get going huh?" Kai suggested. Soobin nodded as he started to get up from his seat. "I had a lot of fun today, and thanks again for everything"

"Oh it was nothing," Soobin said modestly. "But I had a lot of fun today too, maybe we can hang out another time?"

"Oh definitely," Kai smiled. They both left the cafe and walked together for a little bit until they reached the dorms of their campus. The whole time Soobin wanted to ask for his number since he didn't want to rely on fate to see the younger again but he struggled to build the confidence. Kai waved to Soobin as he entered the building but dawned on him that he was walking away. He slightly panicked and started to walk after the boy.

"W-wait!" Soobin grabbed Kai's wrist which made him immediately look at him.

"Something wrong?"

Soobin let go of Kai's wrist and took a deep breath, I can do it...

"I forgot to ask you while we were walked but...can I have your number?" Soobin asked nervously. Kai noticed how anxious he seemed and how he was fiddling with his fingers, which he found kind of cute. He chuckled.

"Of course!" Kai reached his hand out, implying for Soobin to give him his phone. The older hands over his phone and Kai quickly types his number in, handing it back over.

"I'll text you when I get home if that's ok"

"I'll be waiting," Kai smiled as he waved once again, this time actually heading back to his dorm. Soobin silently cheered to himself and smiled uncontrollably. He sighed in relief that the younger didn't reject him and he was happy that he got to be more closer to Kai. He made his way back to his home and decide to send him a text before he takes a shower.

Kai <333

hi, it's soobin and I wanted to let u know I made it home safe :))<

He sighs as sets his phone down, grabs a towel, and heads to the bathroom to freshen up.

Kai made it back to his dorm and thought back to Soobin asking for his number. He couldn't help but feel all fuzzy inside and some butterflies every time he thought of it. He wasn't too sure why he felt that way but he decides to talk to Taehyun about it. He heads to his room but finds him taking a nap. He chuckles as he figures he must be tired of running errands in the morning. He quickly heads back to his room and begins to study again. Not too long after he receives a text and sees it's from Soobin. He couldn't help but smile at his phone at Soobin's cute message and quickly responded.

Soobin :3

thanks for letting me know ! I'll see u at class tmr ! <

He sets his phone down on his desk and he reopens his notebook to continue studying. Before he does he thinks about his day with the older and he starts to feel butterflies again. I never knew he was that cute....

A/N: hope you enjoyed and have a nice day !!!
