Kai and Taehyun sit in their normal spot in the classroom and not long after, Yeonjun and Soobin walk in. Kai waves at Soobin and it's pretty obvious that they're on much more friendlier terms now and Yeonjun noticed it. They took their seat behind the younger men and Yeonjun nudged his best friend.
"You two seem closer than the last time we were in class..." Yeonjun pointed out, somewhat suspicious.
"Well we hung out yesterday for a while, I even got his number," Soobin unconsciously smiled at the memory. Yeonjun exhaled as he saw how giddy he seemed over something small.
"Damn you're already head over heels for that boy," Soobin scoffed. He was about to argue back but he quickly gave up as he knew that Yeonjun wasn't that far off.
"I won't deny that but still, I can't help that he's just so..." Soobin trailed off, thinking of all the things that he could've listed. Suddenly he felt someone behind him and he quickly turned out, revealing to be Beomgyu.
"You're head over heels for who now?"
"Where were you last time???" Yeonjun briefly interrupted. Beomgyu sighed as he took a seat next to Soobin.
"I was so hungover I couldn't even get out of bed all morning so I had to ditch, now your turn. Who's Soobin crushing on?"
Yeonjun sighed at Beomgyu's irresponsibility, but he pointed at Huening Kai to answer his question. His jaw dropped and his eyes were wide open.
"YOU HAVE A CRUSH ON-" Soobin quickly covered his mouth, praying that no one heard him.
"Shut up will you???" He took his hand off Beomgyu's mouth as he started to process everything. He looks to Yeonjun.
"You're gonna let him take our innocent child??" Soobin looked at Beomgyu offended.
"Y'know I'm right here right..."
"I have to at this point, he wouldn't stop bothering me just to get Kai's name." Yeonjun and Beomgyu sighed while Soobin mostly sat there confused. The younger then looked toward Soobin.
"So, what made you like him?"
He thought about it for a moment before he settled on some things to list off. "Well he's a genuinely sweet guy, our first interaction was him giving me snickers because he noticed I was down when Yeonjun refused to tell me his name. then when I tutored him he was very insistent on paying me back, he's just so...cute..." Soobin looked at the boy that he was very whipped for. He only saw the back of his head but it was enough for him to find him adorable.
"Are you done drooling over him?" Beomgyu asked, in a very bored tone. The older rolled his eyes as the other laughed at him.
"Don't worry, I'll talk to Kai later and see what he thinks about you, " the younger assured.
"Fine, but don't make it obvious," Beomgyu nodded as he pat his friend's shoulder reassuringly. Not long after their professor walked in, announcing to be prepared for their quiz tomorrow. The class was mostly filled with sighs and groans but the professor continued with his lesson.
After their professor finished their lecture, Beomgyu waved to his two friends and walked up to Kai and Taehyun.
"Oh my god, you're actually here???" Kai questioned.
Beomgyu laughed it off. "Yeah it's a long story...but where are you two heading?"
"Oh we're just gonna head to the library to study for tomorrow, wanna tag along?" Taehyun invited. The brunette nodded his head quickly.
"Of course!" They made their way to the library and luckily found an empty table. Just as they were about to sit down, Taehyun's phone buzzed and his face was in shock when he read the message.
"I'm so sorry guys I have to go, it's an emergency, I'll explain it to you guys later ok?" He weakly smiled at them and rushed out of the library, leaving the other two looking at him in concern.
"I hope he's ok..." Kai spoke up.
"Yeah...I'm sure he'll be just fine, now lets make sure you don't totally fail this quiz yea?" Beomgyu said snarkily. Kai glared and scoffed at him in return, but they set their notebooks out on the table and took a seat. Beomgyu saw how Kai seemed to be getting the topic much easier than the last time he saw him.
"Since when did you stop being bad at this class??"
"Oh, Soobin was nice enough to tutor me and not call me a lost cause like some people" He was obviously referring to the other, which he got an eye roll in return. But he saw this as a perfect opportunity to ask Kai about his thoughts.
"Speaking about him, you seem to be getting close with him recently," He looked at Kai, waiting for him to elaborate.
"Well after he tutored me we went to go get americanos and and I never knew how great of a person he was, he's genuinely a nice guy," Beomgyu nods in understanding.
"But I've noticed I felt something weird about him..." That intrigued the older a lot and he leaned in closer.
"What do you mean?"
"Well he asked for my number and I felt...warm inside? And when I got home I couldn't stop smiling and I even thought he was...kind of cute..." The last part came out very quietly but Beomgyu leaned in close enough to hear it. He was overjoyed that Soobin's feelings weren't one-sided and that his ship seemed to be ready to sail.
"Awww, looks like our Hueningie has a crushhh" He looks at Kai adoringly while he starts to bury his face in his hands to cover up his reddening face. He thought about it more and realized that I was indeed a crush.
"Oh my gosh, you're right...But what am I supposed to do? I don't think he'd like me back..." Kai's flustered face starts to turn into a gloomy expression as he puts his hands down from his face
The older flicked him in the forehead and he got a whine in return. "Aish of course he'd like you too, he'd be stupid not to. Now stop being mopey and have more confidence." Huening started to smile again and definitely stopped being gloomy.
"Thanks, Gyu"
"Now let's help pass this thing alright?" Huening nodded as they officially started their study session.
They ended up studying for about 2 hours until they called it quits. Kai left first, leaving Beomgyu alone while he decided to call Soobin and tell him to meet him in the library. He arrived in around 15 minutes and took a seat next to him.
"So what did he say?" Soobin asked, sounding slightly nervous to hear the answer.
"Don't worry, I think you'll like it. He admitted to having a crush on you," Beomgyu smirked at the older while nudging him. He mostly stood still in shock, he was mostly surprised that Kai liked him back, but most of all he was happy that he had a chance with a pretty cute boy. He turns to Beomgyu and embraces him in a tight hug.
"You're gonna break my ribs-"
"Thank you so much, truly," he said in relief. Beomgyu sighed but he decided to let him have his moment and he patted his back. He finally lets go of the younger from the bone-crushing hug, showing a mix of happiness and shock
"I still can't believe that he likes me back..."
Beomgyu chucked and shook his head, "Well what's the next plan of action?"
Soobin took a moment to think about it carefully, but he finally came to a conclusion.
"I think...I'm going to ask him out..."
