ENTROPY | SENKU ISHIGAMI

before we begin

PROLOGUE:

| "WE GET IT. YOU READ NIETZSCHE. NOW DO YOU MIND RECITING THE THREE MAIN LAWS OF THERMODYNAMICS?" SENKU CHALLENGED, TIRED OF YOUR PRETENTIOUS LITERATURE ATTITUDE. You huffed in annoyance before an edison's lightbulb practically invited itself into your head. "I know you're making fun of me for not getting physics but I kind of know that one!" you chirped. The science club silenced as they were always eager to hear yours and Senku's banter; it became tradition to watch the two of you flirt without even knowing. It was like a real-life slowburn they were constantly experiencing, and of course, everyone had placed bets on when the pair of you would finally realize. For two smart alecks, the club members denoted you guys the oblivious and ignorant.

"Entropy is possibly the only science thing i'll recognize, so let me explain it - the second law of thermodynamics and simultaneously a sociological theory. Order and chaos ultimately neutralize each other. The universe will always lean to the negative, but that's the balance of it all," you proudly said.

"You're right but also still completely wrong," Senku chuckled before presuming to correct you. "Okay, gee, that's why I said kinda know before," you muttered under your breath darkly, sending him a playful threatening glare. However, before the esteemed scientist could properly delineate the concept of entropy to you, a familiar man marched through the door, bursting out in a yell. With Taiju's entrance, you were reminded you had your own things to do much to Senku's disappointed look. Not even a 'bye?' Gee what kind of friend were you? It was for the best since you wanted to avoid his thermodynamics lecture and go home. Anyways, Taiju seemed to be really excited about something, and you caught a few words of Yuzuriha and confessing.

"Damn, seems like he's finally going to do it," you sighed under your breath. You wondered of your own courage- that sort of thing wasn't for you.

You went down the stairs, and Taiju dashed past you saying, "WISH ME LUCK, Y/N." You stopped to laugh and wish like he asked, but it didn't mean your sighs of discontent would stop. Is this what envy felt like?

Green enveloped your heart, and as you walked out the school, you were stunned by the sight. It was a literal green aura enveloping the atmosphere, and it seemed to be inevitable. To your horror, you witnessed people just suffering a touch from it, so they were petrified before your eyes. Senku would be able to navigate through this.

"I have to warn Sen-" would be the last syllables you'd verbally utter out for a long time.

a/n: guys i've been thinking of dr stone nonstop i fear it's an obsession. my plans for this fanfic are kind of shaky but dw, i learned from my chrollo and fyolai ones to ACTUALLY WRITE DOWN THE NOTES before you end up forgetting the entire plot...!
