Luke:

I woke in my bed, kind of upset that it was the holidays and I couldn't go to school like I usually did.

Summer is a great time to get out and meet friends, but there came the problem.

My mum had noticed it too, though she didn't say anything, she thinks I'm a secluded person but I'm not. I cant take opportunities if they aren't there.

After I was dressed, hair quiffed and teeth brushed I was sat at my window. I didn't really know why, the chances of the red haired boy showing up again were slim, and I probably looked creepy.

His curtains were closed. Typical lazy teenage boy.

I sighed, I didn't feel like anything anymore. I forgot about my early rise and dove under my covers to play on my phone for the rest of the day.

"Hello?" I groaned weakly, sleepy from my nap.

*Tap*

I pushed the covers away from me, seeing that it was pretty dark outside. It'd been a boring day but right now I wasn't thinking about that.

I looked around and my eyes landed on my window, little rocks pelted it softly. Looking past that, I saw that familiar face of Michael smiling sheepishly.

I walked over to my window and opened it.

"Hello?" I asked in a tired yet chirpy voice.

"Hi um, do you wanna come over and play video games?" He asked.

"It's like midnight, my mum would kill me-" I stopped myself. Not cool bro...

Michael raised an eyebrow.

"I mean yeah, course I would just give me a minute." I say as I go to the bathroom to change into some jeans and a hoodie. (Don't judge, you gotta have standards.)

I slipped on my black and white converse and crawled out my window pretty silently, across the garage roof and in through his window.

Upon arriving I saw the room was quite tidy, CDs and DVDs stacked in alphabetical order, posters at 90 degrees exactly and his bed made.

"You're pretty tidy," I shrug. "Why?"

"I um, I just don't like mess." He said, I was guessing there was meant to be more to that.

We sat on the end of his bed and got out FIFA, setting up two controllers.

"We gotta be quiet okay?" He said in a hushed tone.

I nodded, though not really taking much of it in.

(Idk about fifa never played it so if this isn't what the game is like I apologise XD )

It was the final two minutes of the game, it was 2 - 2 and I was closing in on Michaels half.

I got closer and closer, Michaels players continuing to fail him as he desperately but silently tried to get the game back together.

As my player reached the goal he shot and .... scored. I let out a massive winners cry, standing up and waving my arms about like a child.

I looked over at Michael however and he looked like a rabbit on a highway, he had turned even paler than he already was and he had tears in his eyes.

"Get under the bed." He said.

"Wait... What?" I asked puzzled.

"I said get under the bed now!" He cried, his voice shaky and panicky as he pushed me under roughly.

I didn't dare breathe.

Suddenly I heard the door fly open and from the bottom of the bed I saw a pair or shoes walk in.

"What was all that noise boy?" The man asked deeply, anger filling him.

"I'm really sorry Steven I didn't think-"

"That's right you didn't!" He growled as I watched his shoes advance over to Michael, soon Michael was pushed against the wall, 'Steven's hands around his neck.

"It wont happen again I promise." Michael squeaked but Steven didn't stop.

"You think you're so much better than everyone else!" The man screamed, making me wince.

"Please, l-let me go," The red head croaked, tears evident in his voice.

"I should kill you." The man shrugged as he let Michael drop to the floor, he stormed out slamming the door. Soon I heard the front door of their house open and the car start up. He was gone.

I frantically crawled out from the bed, rushing to Michael sat upright against the wall. I looked at his face. It seemed tired, glistening tears rolled down his cheeks and his face was red to match his now messed up hair.

He looked at me with dull eyes, clearly trying to pretend none of that had just happened.

"Michael I- I- I'm sorry." I said close to tears.

"It's fine," He said with a raspy voice. "You can go if you want to, he wont be back tonight."

"I don't want to leave you." I said as I felt some tears prick my eyes.

"It's okay to leave me." He sighed looking at the ground with those same dull eyes. "I'm sorry I invited you over."

I couldn't stop myself from crying now as I wiped my face quickly. We sat in silence for about thirty seconds.

"Don't cry." He said.

"Why not?" I asked frowning.

"You're too beautiful for that."

I was taken aback by this sudden compliment but it didn't stop me from reaching forward and hugging him slightly tighter than I normally would.

When I pulled away fresh tears were trickling down his face but he didn't seem to notice them.

"Go get some sleep okay? I'll talk to you tomorrow maybe." He said as he just looked down at the grey carpet.

"B-bye Michael." I said sadly as I left his room through his window.

"Bye Luke." He replied.
