Luke:

I hadn't heard from Michael and it worried me. He didn't text, he didn't knock on my window, but his was open.

I frowned. I had fallen asleep so early last night and I didn't hear any commotion.

And I thought he was fine, until I looked out my window.

Michael:

I lay on the grass outside the front of the house. I couldn't move, but I could remember.

**Flashback**

I sat doubting my friendship with Luke when Steven got home.

I didn't even hear him come up the stairs but he was in my room before I could go anywhere else, and to run to Luke's room now but it would give away my hiding place.

"Stupid fag thought he could hide last time, who's here to help you now?" He smirked as my face paled.

"Nothing to say? Let's get started then." He said as he started shoving me closer and closer to the window.

"You ruin everything for me, me and your mother, we're happy without you."

"She needs to leave you." I said despite having no courage at all.

He began to laugh uncontrollably. "That's never going to happen. Maybe it's YOU who needs to leave."

Before I knew it I was being grasped by my nirvana shirt and slung out the window. I rolled down the roof of Luke's garage and fell on my face on the grass at the front of the house.

I howled in pain, unable to move. I was petrified that he wasn't done but he never came out, neither did my mum but no doubt she wasn't allowed.

Luke must have been asleep because he didn't come, nobody did. I was just left to cry silently into the night, not able to sleep in the cold air.

**END OF FLASHBACK**

All of a sudden, I saw Luke open his window and look down, screaming.

It wasn't long before his front door was open and he was kneeling in front of me.

"Mikey are you okay?" He cried. "How did this happen?"

But he already knew.

"Wait here," He said as he sprinted back into his house. He appeared seconds later with his mum looking shocked. I hated how I couldn't even move, I was quite out of it actually, so tired and I think I hit my head.

"Michael honey are you okay?" She panicked. "Are your parents home? I'm gonna go get them-"

"NO Mum!" Luke interjected, staring at her.

"Did... Did your parents do this?" She asked horrified.

"I'll explain when we get him inside," Luke sighed. "But we need to get him away from here."

Liz nodded and they both carefully picked me up, hushing me when I squealed in pain.

I was laid down on their couch whilst Luke took his Mum in another room to explain my 'situation'.

I felt tears prick my eyes as I realised this is where it all comes tumbling down. I was probably fine, a broken bone or two but I didn't care, I was just kind of in shock that he'd gone that far. It could have even been a murder attempt.

Luke came back in alone, pulling up a chair to talk to me.

"Michael I didn't want to tell my mum but you understand I had to right?" He looked at me sadly.

I nod slightly.

"Why didn't you come over?" He asked. "I said if you were in trouble-"
"I didn't know if you meant it." I croak.

"OF COURSE I meant it Michael." He said almost crying. "You got thrown out a window."

"I know." I told him. How could I not know?

"I care about you so god damn much. I'm not gonna let him hurt you ever again." He says reaching for my hand.

"okay." I say.

But I know that nobody can stop Steven.
